True. Healers and dps are both available in excess, while most tanks shun duty roulettes for a reason...

Use to heal until SB when they demolished sch. Switched to drk and I like that I can control the pace of the dungeon. I keep the pulls small with new healers to the dungeon or healers that don't want to be stretched. I am ok with big pulls so long as the healer is on board, other wise it is just asking for a wipe and a lot of saltiness.

"When I ask the tank to do big pulls and he does not then I just will not dps, It's funny seeing the healer's mana go dry and while the baby pack is still on 50% hp and then watching as the turtle tank slowly dies, if he still refuses to pull big then I will just vote to kick him."

    Sound ridiculous right?
Yes, mainly because if the tank is not "pulling big" as you say, there shouldn't be any way that the tank/healer cannot maintain themselves indefinitely regardless of whether the DPS step in, unless both the tank and healer are completely terrible (in which case, they have good reason not to be pulling big).

So yeah, DPS doing this will just get kicked and replaced. Unlike tanks, there is no shortage of you.

There is a difference between not meeting someone else's "standards" and simply not doing their job at all. As a tank I hold the hate of what I pull and what the game throws at me as part of an encounter; if you wanna go off and "POTD" something by yourself, that's your problem.

That's not how long they've been waiting for a tank though. That's how long since the dungeon started with a full 4 man group.
Duh. The point is most dungeons take 20-25 minutes to complete, so if they were in there for 45m+ that implies a much longer wait than 10 minutes; that or there were wipes or other such circumstances that prompted an eventual dismissal of the tank.

Then they can enjoy their forever long dungeon runs without any complaints.

I hope I never be in a party with you. I'm a shy tank that gets nervous and stressed a bit and
I try my best to learn to tank and host PF parties at times
to ease their Que time for a free DPS ride all while learning to conquer my fear of tanking.
I ask that they are kind with me and I'm learning the dungeon
and no one has yet to be mean, people are okay, especially in StormBlood where really mobs HURT.
But, If you're going to be rude to me and call be bad, pull more without word and stuff you can
    1. Tank yourself.
    2. Find friends you know can deal with your needs and wants.

"Tanking is easy" is subjective. I find it incredibly hard but I find healing easy, others disagree with me.
If I see that I, and my team can handle it I will plan around accordingly. ^^
It is a tankless job, and not many people wanna deal with it, so you guys should really be nicer to tanks who
want to pull smaller or feel uncomfortable...We are learning and adjusting.

But, just looking at these here posts though, people
scratch their heads as to why people don't wanna tank?
Well, *gestures hand to most the posts*
    Mystery solved.

You know, Jybril, the more posts I see from you the more I like you. I really wish we were on the same server, heh. Healing can be very easy. As long as the tank pulls what he or she can handle, with cool downs used, pull the whole zone at once. I really couldn't care less. Healing can be very easy, but it can be hard as I'm sure you know. Tanking is a job I'd never wish on my worst enemy. I tried tanking once in Lineage 2. It was one time, and I'll never do it again. I'm thankful to have a friend that likes tanking. We work well together, but even in pugs, I've never met a BAD tank. I've seen some that are overconfident and seem to think they are playing with their usual group, but definitely not bad. I'm just almost thankful that anybody plays a tank. Honestly, I can't see the fun in it.

"Tis better to bend with the wind than stand tall and be Broken" Or in otherwords, Learn to be a flexible tank. Rather than try and do it a way YOU like, Think of what the party needs/wants. Being stubborn will only lead to the party arguing with you and a potential breakdown of the group, Not to mention making an ass of yourself.

If you're new to tanking or feel uncomfortable with big pulls than make it known at the beginning. If you're experienced then ask the healer if they want small or big pulls.

I don't like it when someone runs ahead and pulls stuff for me. I'm still working on gearing up my tank, I don't need someone 20 ilevels above me pulling stuff intentionally and getting upset that they kept the aggro.

That and like someone else mentioned if you want to set the pace, run as tank yourself. You don't know if the tank is comfortable or capable of taking more mobs and forcing a sloppy pull is not speeding up anything.

My first time, first pull in Ala Mhigo started and ended something like this:

...Bottom line: pull what you/your party members are comfortable with. If you're not comfortable with pulling what they want, screw 'em. If they're not comfortable with you making massive pulls, lay off and take it a bit easier. You're only going to prolong the dungeon run without necessity due to wiping if you pull more than you/your party can handle, so if you have to play it a little safe, who cares if it takes 5 minutes longer than it would with massive pulls? :P

(Also my posting that screenshot was NOT a call out, these guys I ran with were actually really awesome and that's probably the most hilarious thing that has happened to me tanking to date, LOL. If you read this, you basically made my week.)

Looking at these replies... and you still wonder why most of us hesitate to make a tank class... By the Twelve!

Keep pushing tankers and sooner or later they will do DF /raid/whatever only within their circle... by that time, good luck finding one for dungeoning.

Keep your "Pro" ideas of tanking to yourself and stop shoving it to us. Better yet, go play your tank class or make one if you are that pro.

    Toxic people is indeed toxic.

Few players seem to imagine we all spend our life in the game, levelling all jobs and farming so often all dungeons we are bored of everything and want big pull to get the pill.

I summarize what they say pretending they respect people who learn (non-sense since they imagine other's life and other's gameplay/playtime) :
If you play tank one time a week, in one dungeon, -one possible reason why all people are not really always confident and avoid big pulls- don't even try to learn, just leave the game, your are too bad for our standard. We don't have time to lose with you learning.

Some kind of contradiction when they suggest to people to levelling in dungeons. Some kind of contradiction too when they pretend they respect players who are in learning phase.

Do not use the DF, as if people in FC were always available at our pace. Other kind of non-sense (for multiple reason these pseudo-PGM seem unable to admit, since they don't seem to think about before running on their PGM high horses).

Not all players need adrenaline. No all players are in need of some kind of stress. No all player feel kind of competition. Few? Some? are maybe just looking for some kind of relaxation in alternative world (doesn't it make sense in a RPG?). Does this forbidde them to play tank (or other job, it means for all jobs, in fact), to learn at their pace?
