The issue with tanking ( just started back up myself ) is PUG's. The first thing I do is look at a healers gear. That gives me a good idea of what I can and can't pull. Secondly I usually ask if they are ok with bigger pulls. I personally dont trust PuG healers. Often they are either over healing or DPSing and zone out and let me or other tanks get way to low. Healers need to know their class and I feel like a lot of healers only made healers so they could get fast queues lol.

If you're new to tanking or feel uncomfortable with big pulls than make it known at the beginning.
Tanks do that by... guess what? Making smaller pulls. They shouldn't have to spell it out for every single group at the start.

Few players seem to imagine we all spend our life in the game, levelling all jobs and farming so often all dungeons we are bored of everything and want big pull to get the pill.
What, and the tank hasn't? Do you think you're special, here?

Then they can enjoy their forever long dungeon runs without any complaints.
You people talk like FFXIV is hard to play, lol.

One of the easiest game there is.

This is a themepark game for a reason.

So keep calling others bad, this makes me cringe a lot.

Future groups are impacted by that. A little patience can go a long way.

I'm closing in on 3,000 dungeons tanked, so while my opinion may be arbitrary, it's also informed by solid experience.

Something that needs to be considered, is that duty finder is a cesspool of anti-social, and maladjusted loners who are forced to use it because they can't make friends with other people, or they're hated by their free companies. People like that are incapable of basic politeness, and tactful decision making.
I really like the cut of your gib sir Here's hoping I meet you in DF

as a healer I don't mind massive pulls. I actually welcome it. And I also respect a Tank who wants to get a feel for it first.

However, what kinda irks me a bit is when they pull everything, get to the bosses without even checking on the other parties (you know, pulling in 6 mobs into the boss arena) and then run right for the final boss without even checking in on the new person who is, rightfully, watching the cut scene...which causes them to miss out on the fight

    Now, that behavior bothers me.

If you can do mass pulls as a tank and respect a new player who would like to watch a 15 second cutscene then I think that's awesome. That's a good tank. I mean ...you and I get instant queues, the DPS dont. Let them new folks watch that cutscene for the first time!

I don't know what you expect me to reply. This kinda sounds like a missunderstanding. But I will pass. I have nothing to add to my last sayings.

Pulling more than one pack of mobs does not make you a pro.

If your party is competent, there is very rarely a reason to do single pulls.

The three other randos you are matched with aren't always going to be okay with "but muh comfort!"
