Lazy Healers In Parties of Eight

I certainly enjoy it when I get a raise, but then proceed to get no heals for the next 10-15 seconds as both of the healers are just mindlessly spamming Glare, so I get immediately KO'd again by the next roomwide. Thanks a lot, you twits. Dunno why you even bothered with the raise.

People wanting to DPS but playing healer/tank to do it for the faster queues are one of the biggest plagues in this game, IMO.

I've stopped doing MSQ roulette due to cohealers going afk. I know it can be solo healed but come on. Do some dps or toss some regens/shields. Don't stand afk at the gate!

If you expect a healer to DPS then I am a lazy healer. I am there to heal and keep people alive not do damage. Expecting a healer to do more is unreasonable.

This isn't healer specific hate. I am a healer, and I'm complaining about people in my role.

There have been times I've been forced to do no DPS as a healer. When you're stuck in a group with squishy tanks, DPS that think pulling off the tank is a good thing, and other healers that thinks they're better because their DPS parse is higher than mine, that's when I want to smack other healers.

Usually happens in 24-man content for me, but it has happened in 8-man.

Honestly I think both healers should contribute equally to healing and DPS. I am not a fan of the main-heal/off-heal design.

@Mikhail: I have the opposite issue: I run into Diurnal ASTs or WHMs that seem allergic to their HoTs in Susano Ex groups, and I'm frequently outputting double the HPS on Noct AST of healers with HoTs. The only time they seem to want to use them is pre-pull. When there's literally no outgoing party damage and only the tank is taking damage. I was actually paired with an AST yesterday that would use Collective Unconscious pre-pull.

Why apply a 3k per tick HoT on the party when there is no party-wide damage the first 30 seconds of the fight? ._. Even the people that move with churning and following the stack, a simple basic heal/basic AOE heal is more than enough to top everyone off. And I don't know what is with this influx of Regen healers that seem to forget Regen/Diurnal A. Benefic even exists, and just expect me to shield the MT after every auto attack Susano does. .__.

This is especially bad with off tanks that don't bother to pick up adds or anything and end up getting dps or healers killed.

You know you're in a crappy Lakshmi party if you have an off tank that isn't handling the marker.

You're absolutely right! Surely nothing will go wrong when i run myself out of MP spam casting Broil!

I come from a healing background where if i wanted my MP to last the whole fight, I needed to stop casting altogether and work with my co-healers so that we could alternate taking breaks to allow for natural regen. Yay the old mp/5 rule.
So no, I will not needlessly blow all my MP casting spells on every GCD, I will throw DPS when i have the time, spare MP and party status is acceptable.
