Maybe they have not figure out how to do the wardrobe without hurting the stability of the server. Just because wow or other MMO's found a way does not mean square has. The companies are not keen on sharing their secrets or methods with other MMO's.

I feel like at PAX (?) Yoshida was giving the usual "it's impossible" answer but suddenly realised there were alternate ways around it, and the latest events have been a bit coy but hopeful about it. To me, it feels as though they're working on it now and just aren't ready to announce anything. I hope that if 3.x was the era of gpose, 4.x will be the era of whatever they call our version of a glamour log. When it's even hurting Mog Station and event sales because nobody who gets crazy about glamour can actually store things properly even with the server-busting extra retainers, something really does need to be done. He knows glamour is what attracts a lot of people to the game so I have faith. I have faith in Square-Enix's desire to prioritise making money, so our goals are effectively aligned here.

Could be "okay" as long as we save our glamor into some sort of internal wardrobe...but still, for a "supposedly" AAA mmorpg it feels very poor in polish and this is just one of them many things being off.Apparently, he readdressed this and said they are looking into a system where you could only access it in certain areas. It makes me wonder if they're looking at something where you say, click on a Wardrobe either in an inn room or your house and can open up glamours. Theoretically, that would relieve server stress since you'd be opening the Wardrobe in an instanced area.
Beside the wardrobe, look at the incredible amount of invisible walls we have in the world, in a p2p game...while Guild Wars 2 is a b2p game with not only some massive areas, but also massive "freedom" where to run too and walk and that game also has macro areas like FFXIV.
Sure it's a totally different topic, but little oddities such as these can only stack up so much, and being told that a AAA MMORPG "can't" have a wardrobe because of instability, it makes very hard to keep supporting a game.
....especially when f2p games have done it already and they have a tenth of the budget

Crash server wouldn't surprise me seeing how it crashes already when there's too many player on a map... their structuration looks like sh** and they probably should rework it all to ensure a bright future for this game, including a glamour log.
