    Skill / Spell Animations

    Hello,

    I've seen this topic mentioned but I havn't found a thread dedicated specifically to this issue. Regardless, this is one of my friends and my own biggest complaints about FFXIV as it stands. Coming from FFXI I guess I was pampered because I was use to every class having some sort of eye friendly skill that sets it apart from another class. I know that FFXIV has the potential to do amazing things with skill / casting animation. It shows in skills like simian thrash, but where are the other simian thrash's for every class, and in lower level environments too. Also, maybe just my pampered ffxi mindset, but I believe that the skills we do get at higher levels, should match thier new animation with usefullness. Why throw pointless skills at us just for the sake of getting one in every two ranks. As for spells, my friend who plays conjury asked me the other day "Do you even notice when I cast fire II?" "No?!" I replied, and it wasn't because thier was a lack of damage on her part, but rather I never noticed it outside the melee's constant (1,2)melee animations. I personally havn't ranked any magic oriented job far enough to hold that great an opinion, but I do see a lack of animation in it as well when compared to games(sorry again) like FFXI. Fixing this, I think would help extinguish the huge "Hate Fire" that is enveloping FFXIV's on-edge player base. Please throw your opinion out there too, with any luck we'll catch SE's attention.     i believe that is one thing missing is animations on skills. alot of times i do the hit or heal or whatever it may be, but only see the result not the action.

    i would also like kind of a combo within the battle regimens so if a magic + weapon was used another ability all together was animated and used. a skill chain done within the battle regimen, but did not stop the regimen. i would also like the ability to attack while in battle regimen mode as long as it stops you from using the tp/mp needed to use the skill you have in regimen. that would stop the complaints about lagging waiting on others in regimen mode.

    i would also like to see more abilities bought through the guilds and those abilities would be class exclusive abilities.

    another nice add for me would be the option to use an advanced class as a branch of your main class. people want to use dark knight say once you get certain classes to a certain rank you would open that advanced class those abilities would be all class exclusive, but you could still use skills from other classes since it is advanced not a base class.

    my biggest want of everything in this game is pure content. storyline(main and class), sidequests(not get me 5 gnat wings), bigger diversity of new mobs(i am sick of every level of dodo, puk, coblyn, goat, gnat).

    i just want to see the things that would bring people back to rejoin the game and to me major content ads would be the best way to do so. all of the trivial things such as jumping, death penalty, raising sp, lowering sp should all take second place behind getting content to get people playing again.

    I too wish that animations were at least advanced a little bit. The only excuse I could see for the way things are is if they have plans to raise the cap to rank 57249651 so abilities slowly progress till they're worthy of being cool looking.

    My biggest complaint is with the lancers abilities all look like skewer (even Chaos thrust which is supposedly a multi hit weapon skill) and spells like flare.

    I'd also like to point out that I don't believe there is even a dev tag for this and I believe it's something that developers should be at least taking notice.

    I could live with all the animations of things now, IF and only IF we KNEW they were just keeping the animations simple because we are low rank, and upon increasing the rank cap, we could start seeing some really amazing animations.

    Dear Viewers,

    I would like to see something for lancer that isn't skewer. Once you get skewer every weapon skill beyond that is pretty much the same animation, with a few tweaks. There are a few ws that aren't like skewer; leg sweep, and the reduce tp gain one. Even chaos thrust is, even, has almost the same animation with a few more special effects in it. I'm just a poor lancer who can't get anywhere though. So don't listen to me. Please Listen to the boss, Mr. T. He knows whats up and down and around.

    Yeah Joe, I agree. It should be something higher level oriented, another thing to work towards. Maybe SE is planning on doing a better job with higher ranks, but short of a possible advancement system, I don't see higher ranks being implemented anytime soon.

    yes and about mages i will would like to see animation casting by hands not just by weap every spell is the same healing/dots/nuking/buffing

    There is already a ton of posts regarding animations...one of them is even on the very next page. Regardless...yes...the animations in this game sucks and it really turns me off because at r50, you're no cooler than a r1 player in terms of eye candy (the same goes for armor and weapons..)
