Absolutely agree. Really weird that it was made an optional.
But if the melee uses it during the burst, and the person uses it to escape said burst, (both your first two uses of it), that pretty much just cancels out. Just means it is a bit harder for melee and tanks to get there burst off (as first noted by Koltik). Why should melee and tanks be at this disadvantage. Plus was not new PvP to be simplify things, adding sprint back just moves as back towards old pvp. (not that i would mind, being the pvp of old I preferred)
sprint and purify should be baseline.
I actually don't use sprint on my DRG in PvP. Between jump, dive, and elusive, I have mobility covered. Once you learn how to now jump into a mob of 20 players and pick battles carefully, sprint isn't THAT important. In fact, the most fun thing to do is to snipe someone running away into their crowd with jump + nastrod. Since I'm close enough with jump, nastrod will hit as well. Then I just escape back with elusive with my cheeky little kill.
I feel like people have relied on sprint and purify so much to bail them out of their stupid mistakes that they rather have them back than learn to play without them.
I use sprint as a NIN to out-maneuver my enemy in conjunction with hyoton. Hyoton, and if they don't break it, quickly sprint to their back, LB, assassinate -> most likely ded.
totally agree its one of the basic rights.. is to have sprint in pve/pvp alike.
Considering from what I've seen our PVP hotbar isn't even filled up, where PVE usually uses 2 or more on a cross hotbar. May as well let people have a recuperate/purify and sprint as a main part of the kit. It reduces "We don't see healers PVP" (probably not) and access to one CC ability.
