Why are you still playing?

i still play only because i made a great group of friends in game and enjoy playing with them. i'll still be paying just to spend time with them because i enjoy that, but as far as "is this the game i had hoped it would be originally?" no.

I stick around, because I can generally see the game going in a good direction, but it still needs the help of the community to keep them "in check" if they make mistakes that are detrimental to the good of the game.

Well said, even though the game was not what I expected, I have joined a very nice LS and made alot of good friends. They are very helpfull and we do events together from time to time.

Alot of us keep playing this game because the nostalgic effect from XI or the unique graphics/atmosphere of XIV, but even that is not enough anymore.

What I and most of the player who wants to give the game a chance will prolly do is keep hanging until 12.1. However, if its still lackluster then I might quit for a while.

Many other "polished" options will be available by then like Tera, Guild Wars 2, SWTOR, Rift or the tons of good console games.

I will defintly be around when 2.0 come out. That being said, my utmost consern is this :

Hell I'm not even sure it's going to happen in 2.0! Version 2.0 sounds more like an excuse to shove problems away for a long period of time.

On a side note, I believe that SE should pump more devs into XIV, because even though the game is improving, its being done very slowly.
