I'm not expecting it either and that's what makes me angry and be mean on these forums from time to time. Hell I'm not even sure it's going to happen in 2.0! Version 2.0 sounds more like an excuse to shove problems away for a long period of time.

Well said, even though the game was not what I expected, I have joined a very nice LS and made alot of good friends. They are very helpfull and we do events together from time to time.
Alot of us keep playing this game because the nostalgic effect from XI or the unique graphics/atmosphere of XIV, but even that is not enough anymore.
What I and most of the player who wants to give the game a chance will prolly do is keep hanging until 12.1. However, if its still lackluster then I might quit for a while.
Many other "polished" options will be available by then like Tera, Guild Wars 2, SWTOR, Rift or the tons of good console games.
I will defintly be around when 2.0 come out. That being said, my utmost consern is this :
On a side note, I believe that SE should pump more devs into XIV, because even though the game is improving, its being done very slowly.

They could take the time to add more content to 1.0 and spend less time on progress towards 2.0, but I think that's never going to be a realistic option since having 600 characters on during peak hours on a high population server I can't see how they could break even with the sub. From a business standpoint if I were Wada-san I would want V2 here as fast as possible so his company could start making money on it.
They could increase the staffing, but my guess is there is a risk vs. reward factor they have to consider and doubling the staff might increase their risk beyond what is acceptable to their board of directors. Doubling the staff would not double their efficiency either, and in fact while they brought new people up to speed on the project it would decrease it.
What I really want to see them do is adequately play-test V2 before we get it, and by play test I mean have real players from around the world hammer on it while they are making it. It's not enough to have the devs do the play-testing themselves. Its not a problem of game code not working as they intended as much as it is a problem of what they intended not working for the players. The only way to find out what the players do and don't enjoy is to let the players test it and tell them which ideas are good and which are bad. They need test servers for V2 like they have for XI. Even if it is only a 100 people logged in a day its not exactly all that much less than the number of people on the servers they are currently maintaining. I'd accept a delay on the release of V2 if it means the game is truly ready for release.
