I read so many posts and responces to posts from ppl who seem to truly hate this game. Ppl who do not use these forums for the constructive criticism in which they are meant. So I am posing a question to these ppl...

Why are you still playing?

When I do not like a game I simply stop playing it, sell it (if it was one I purchased instead of renting) and go on to better things. I do not go to the forums and post 100 messages about why its so bad and try to discourage new and old players from playing then boot the game up and play. And if you are not playing there is no reason to troll the forums anyway, right? Maybe its just my personality type, or just a maturity thing, but I really dont get so many ppls need to complain so much about something that is not being forced upon them. Something they can just select 'exit game' or 'uninstall' and be done with.

Not flaming anyone or trolling. I am not trying to start a debate about the good vs the bad. I am just truly curious as to why you still play if it is just that bad of an experience for you AND why you do not just quit completely or temporarily

I check in each "big" patch. I dont play the game I keep thinking it might turn fun then i log in for the next patch and realize its still the same game with minor changes just with less people. I mean level 50 cul here, is the game better for me than it was 15 months ago? Not really. 15 MONTHS!

So do i...right now i rarely can even go past play screen...i log in...stare that play screen a while and just close the launcher. I really lost all the will of playing after 1.20.

Right now i just check the forums in a hope of a miracle...after all it's a good time of year for one to happen! =P

Sucks...all i wanted was the game i bought. Maybe we can have some good news regarding it after all next year...FFXI endgame rework might be finishing around march so we might have Tanaka free to resume the original FFXIV as a spin-off by then...

For myself, I'll admit I wondered that myself.. essentially every last one of my friends have stopped playing to move to other things and I do miss hanging out with everyone I had befriended.. but barring the lost friendships.. I actually enjoy the game.. though I don't put in 4-6hrs a day in it, some days I'm sadly lucky to only get an hour here or there but it's still quite enjoyable for me

I like to log in to listen to the xmas music right now. Or to run around, do some shopping, explore some. It's a great escape from reality, is visually appealing, and is equal to, if not more fun than real life. except when the lady friend is over. then real life kind of pulls ahead a bit. boobs and such.
