Hey guys, just hit 70 on my gatherers and working on replacing the old ironworks stuff. What kind of melds are people doing for the current HQ white gear, or is the crafted version of the AF set expected to come out soon?

Grats on 70! You have two options at this point, wait for Tuesday and see if they release new gear or meld current white to try and get HQ mats on the folklore/legendary nodes. There is also a third route and grab yellow scrip gear and just meld belt/accessories/OH. Either way you have a fair amount of melding. I will post the three options that I put together and you can make decisions from there. NOTE: All three of these options are to hit 1200 perception.
Option one: Melded 290 white gear plus yellow scrip MH. http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/11DKI You can make some of the melds easier if you want to just hit 700 GP and you must use HQ Jhammel Moussaka to hit the perception minimum.
Option two: Yellow scrip gear set, there is some heavy melds on the OH and can spend more on Vs etc if you like. http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/11D6Y again this build need HQ Jhammel Moussaka.
Option three: 290 white set with heavy melds to hit 1200 without food, http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/11D6W.
The meld order or grade of materia isn't final, if you want to use move Vs or more VIs you can. I built these sets for my FC members to have guidlines for melding and try not to break the bank too too much. Good luck!![]()

I did something similar to Option One but with the following rules: NO Grade VI's, Grade V's in guaranteed slots *only*, Grade IV's *only* in a guaranteed slot or the first overmeld...with MH yellow scrip tool.Grats on 70! i wouldn't bother with the 1200 perception for now, crafting gear is so strong HQ raw mats are very unnecessary

What are the base Gathering, Perception, and GP required/recommended for end-game Stormblood gathering? Perception seems to be 1200, but what is it for Gathering? Also, it appears for GP to be at 700 or greater. Is it typically recommends to completely max GP with melds (akin to CP for crafting)? Thanks all.

We do not know yet what the requirements are going to be from future patches, for obvious reasons. However, historically speaking, you needed a very well melded set of gear to move into the next tier. And, GP has always been useful; ARR saw 600 GP being incredibly useful, HW saw 650 GP being incredibly useful, and leveling in SB saw 700 GP incredibly useful (for me, anyway).
I expect that the next breakpoint, given our current skills, will be 800 GP, though I'm not sure of the feasibility of getting there just yet. I'd stockpile Materia and hold onto it until the next level of stuff is released, so you can meld (without suffering the post-patch markup on the board) appropriately for it when the time comes.
You need 1050 gathering for 85% on legendary nodes. And you need a minimum of 600 GP. Perception isn't very important imo since there's no need for hq mats atm. This should be np to achieve with some cheap melds.

Should I meld any GP in your opinion? I'd like to hit 1050ga, 1200pe at least, possibly a little more gathering. What do you think about melding GP on top of that, what's a good number to reach for? Thanks.

700 GP is nice to make room for a Sharp Vision II. Anything above that would only be useful for extra hooksets while fishing, I think.
