It doesnt sound very appealing to me tbh - those wings will either clip horribly with everything or look like cheap plastic-stuff. Also: unless we're able to actually fly without a mount it would feel ridicoulos to have wings but still need a mount to fly - whats the point in those then?

Well, technically it is not too unrealistic since there are plenty of bird species that can't fly despite having wings.
