This mindset is flawed because RDM is NOT a Jack of All Trades. You're thinking of RDM from other FF games where there weren't strict role systems. RDM fell into DPS, so it's role is to DPS, and to do it well. That doesn't mean being a poor man's BLM. It means being able to match a BLM, unless wasting time with Vercure/Verraise.
