The fact the class has a glitch is an obvious problem. The fact that it's a hybrid means it should enjoy that aspect, not be king of it all.

No my blm may not be max yet, I research quite a bit though and can still point out problems.

If you can use black and white magic as well as melee why should you do more damage than a pure black mage? Maybe the upcoming fire 4 cast reduction will help Even things out, maybe not.

Why should one caster with a lowskill cap and all these goodies do more than other Classes who are pure dps

Someone else mentioned enhancing sure cast to give us a movement window as blm and that would be great as well.

You have two choices.

Reroll to a easier class.
Enjoy your BLm even if they might not be the best of the best dps (right now.)

You enjoy the play style? If yes stick with it. If no reroll.

Asking for nerfs on other classes won't do you any good, the devs already said skill cap does not matter on class. It is balance around class flavor. So rdm being easier than BLM means nothing to the devs. So accept it, or reroll.

Man, take this from one Black Mage to the other. Once the glitch is fixed, RDM won't be an issue to us.
We compete with jobs like SAM or MNK- and may or may not need dps buffs to justify taking one of their spots.
The only job that would compare (unfavourably) with RDM is SMN.
And we're about to get Triple on a one minute cd, so we'll be mobile enough.

Maybe I'm just a salty blm. I just FEEL like if all we have is dps we should at least hit the hardest. I don't think if they had hit our potency there would be this much outrage. I don't want to change my class based on flavor of the month but if they offer more, Its bad for party not to. If nothing else potencies should be adjusted, you have constant mobility, options to heal and help raise party. Buffs, at least SE could let is be the turret we should be. In most dungeons by the time I cast fire 4 once the mobs are dead from melee and rdm.

Nobody wants rdm butchered but if it's an option class let that be it's niche.

Why would you bring a Blm or a smn in your party over a red mage? Nobody can answer that but want to pretend that all casters not being viable equally isn't an issue.

In this game's lore, White Magic is equally dangerous and destructive as Black Magic. They both manipulate the world around them to dangerous degrees, Black Magic just manipulates the elements of Fire, Ice, and Thunder while White Magic manipulates Water, Earth, and Wind. Red Magic is the school of the survivors of Nyunkrempf's Hope revolving around a mixture of the arts--dabbling in manipulating all six. Why should a Red Mage hit as hard as a Black Mage? They shouldn't--not with Black Magic. They supplement their weaknesses in Black Magic with the strengths in White, and when the magical medium has stored enough power, it cuts through the wind in magical slashes combining martial and all six elements of magical might.

Yes. Of two very potent and very dangerous *ATTACK MAGICKS* both of which caused a calamity.

In the world of XIV, it is. It has the added benefit of healing, and practicioners of White Magic post-Magi War focus on it.

You forged a boogeyman for yourself based on researching that which you do not understand. RDM does not hit as hard as BLM. Moreover, RDM's Black Magic is nowhere on par with Black Mage's Black Magic. Nor is its White Magic as potent as White Mage's White Magic. It also has no access to Water and Blizzard spells, so there's another area of both magics they have no grasp on.

Hybrid=/=weak. Jack of all Trades may be mediocre at all, but you still have access to all--and using all is the strength that puts RDM where they are.

More threads=More spam. If JP can be civil for every problem and make 1 giant megathread why cant we instead of spamming the boards thinking itll make people listen instead of being annoyed the 10th one has popped up.
