    My friend and I have the exact same issue. Worse, Paypal is the only way for him to renew his account. FYI, failing to make a payment will likely block your account from making ANY other payments. I suggest you stop trying to use Paypal to add Crysta and contact SE directly.

    This happened once in Feb 2017. You can still find some information if you google "ffxiv thanks for your purchase".

    I did just that exactly. But they're telling me it's not an error on their side. Told me what to try and what not... but none of these wonderful tips they gave me did work. Seems to me that most likely PayPal users will have to wait until the issue is fixed some day.
