How you guys do?!

I'm relatively new to the game (came in a late HW), and always been playing healers as my main roles (AST, SCH now in SB) and tanks when I felt like smacking things.

Just got my healer to 70 and now, instead of coming with a tank or another healer, I've decided boost and level a DPS job.

I've chose MCH and I'm having a - lot - of issues soloing stuff around to do quests, help with fates, etc, in that I'm VERY squishy! Even using snares, choco regen, I'm always in verge of death. Playing a dps role outside of group content is always like this?

Back with SCH leveling, I couldn't dish out much dmg, but nothing would kill me.

As a DPS you will always want to have your Gear up to current level and always have your Chocobo companion out when in Expansion zones since Expansion areas are made to be difficult to travel on foot solo unless you're over geared.

Tanks a more survivable but they will need Choco companion out to get the DPS they need to kill area mobs fast.

Healer has it easiest because they can heal and perform good dps at the sametime with their chocobo adding on to their DPS or healing.

Might be that you are under geared, using your abilities improperly or taking on too many mobs at once? Didn't have any problems killing/surviving with MCH to 70 even if it is a low dps class as far as dps classes are concerned.
