Well they tried to fix it. They buffed monk (literally?) every patch which in turn would have made PLD more relevant ... except that STR down was bad anyway...

They tried in all sorts of ways, but frankly it just got worse every patch. At least you ran a caster for A2 in 3.0 and MNK was kind of useful. Like, was 2 years ago that the last time an entire archetype of jobs (mDPS) had a reason for even existing?

And they bent over backwards to make STR down useless. Like A4S they introduced an entire new form of damage to make sure that Virus/Eye/STR down/INT down were all worthless.
