I'm pretty sure PLDs that think its damage is not obscenely high are just bad and unable to get those kind of numbers, ever, so they want things to always be imbalanced in their favor.
That said, my biggest concern right now is that DRK's utility is not THAT great. Everyone talking about how "DRK has utility and Blackest Night is amazing", and while TBN is amazing, the utility aspect is not what's amazing at all. A 10% HP shield is simply not that amazing.
I'm not so sure that losing a single Holy Spirit per minute is going to significantly nerf PLD to the point that its utility is not seen as pretty much essential in prog. So, with that assumption out of the way, if WAR brings major DPS and DRK brings a 10% HP shield, I really don't see myself going DRK, which is sad because it's my main and I love the theme, but with how boring it is right now and the fact that I would rather bring more DPS than a 10% HP shield for tank busters, it's not looking good to me.
It's a step in the right direction, but it won't be enough, in my opinion.
It's 20% on yourself and 10% if used on someone else.Actually the shield is 20% not 10%. But I do agree that it certainly is not that amazing indeed. Especially given that we have such a downright pitiful amount of cooldowns for mitigation. Since putting aside Rampart which any Tank can get from Role Actions, we only really have TBN and Shadow Wall which just functions as an inferior Sentinel.

My bad then. I misunderstood and thought they were talking about using it on yourself rather than someone else for some reason. Thanks for correcting my mistake there.
Yeah, kind of half-asleep and misunderstood what you were saying. So I'm glad they corrected me on my mistake there. You know, honestly the only parody I'm interested in seeing is the one of all the PLDs telling WARs, "Yeahhh how does it feel now that the shoe is on the other foot!?" and "You had your time, now it's our time to be on top!", rather than fighting for balance like the rest of the sane tanking community.
As someone said pretty much, I was talking about DRK's utility, meaning the value of the shield when used on another. TBN is possibly the best self-mitigation tool in the game, imho.

How come it is boring? i kinda like DA spam fest but if this is another Low Blow whine thingy then cmon that shit was lame and boring filler skill, its the proc reset that was interesting not the Low Blow itself. With that said i would like to see that proc rest making comeback but instead affecting skills like C&S, now THAT would be sweet as hell.
So Ninja was nerfed and Samurai wasn't, last time I check Samurai was the OP one lol

Yeah, no, not really. NIN has been singled out as the most imbalanced because its DPS was not far behind SAM yet it brought massive utility... Why are we talking about this in a tank forum?
Well look at it this way, what does Samurai bring to a raid/group asides from big damage? Ninja has plenty of tools that helps the group/raid, SAM having big damage is their uniqueness. the Dev Team will make the proper adjustments eventually. I'm just glad Paladin is in the position it is right now and the Holy Spirit nerf won't affect it as much.
But what do I know I'm just a dude playing another dude while leveling that dude.
DPS > Mitigation guys.
PLD is not going to be worth anything as soon as people geared up and PoA, DV, Intervention, etc. are just gnna lose their function with rising gear lvls.
The buffs to warrior and drk were needed to put them t on top of dmg again, but the nerf to pld was absolutely not because paladins group mitigation is of limited use
for what do you need PoA if your group just survives fine without? for what do you need divine veil? Intervention?
raids are cleared lastly through dps and wha(aka has the most dps) that one is going to be the best
