Do they really?
They are not that good of a dps, the only reason why they are doing good dps right now is because of the mana bug. Once that gets fixed they are more in line with summoner dps.

It's a job, not a class, people!
Nerf it to be as weak as Physick on SMN. That's fair.

No why? That would defeat the purpose of red mage. Only reason why red mage as a better cure than smn is because of the white magic they use. It only makes sense.
Please don't need red mage Vercure, it's fine where it's at. It's helpful for keeping the main tank up while rezzing healers, but in no way have I seen successfully replace a healer.
It's not fine. SMN has no way to actually keep their alive and are at the mercy of other healers paying attention (they don't care) or constantly moving them. Unlike RDM, SMN actually has a logical reason to have to heal something. So no. RDM either gets Physick levels of healing or SMN gets RDM levels of healing. No why? Summoners don't use white magic. Class flavor says that they don't get a strong heal. That is what the devs said, and that is how it is. Don't compare the class design of summoner to rdm.
That is all.
Still not understanding why a Scholar can heal well with Physick and do the same damage with Bio and Miasma yet SMN is unable to. Like I said, either nerf RDM or buff SMN.
and SMN wouldn't need that heal to be strong (wouldn't need to have it at all since its so worthless without the proper scaling) if we got sustain back.

How many times does it need to be said so people understand? RDM uses both black and white magic. SMN is a specialized job that doesn't. RDM's cure being stronger than SMN's makes sense lore and battle wise. Like Jkap said in no situation can nor have we ever replace a healer. Our cure is not that strong to keep a whole party alive. Like Yoshi said, stop trying to make SMN be like a RDM or in this case, stop trying to turn RDM into something that isn't.
In any case, replace Physick with Sustain or something to help keep pets alive. I think that matters more to SMN than being able to heal a party member.
Why is RDM able to Raise? Isn't that making RDM like SMN? They were the only one who could do that before. Also lore wise? Have you ever played any FF game with a Summoner in them? Healing isn't foreign to them. RDM has no reason to heal. SMN does. From a gameplay perspective, it makes sense for SMN to have a heal. RDM just has one because why not.How many times does it need to be said so people understand? RDM uses both black and white magic. SMN is a specialized job that doesn't.
