Yeah, LB3 does like 260k damage in one shot. That's pretty big.Just went with a high-octane DPS Susanoo Farm party last night as a DRG. Some runs we killed him before LB3 was up, but there's one where it was up. I used it. Then they said "Don't use LB3 later we deal more DPS during the time it takes to cast it". I always like "Uhh okay" but I was thinking that's kinda bs. My brother who's a top WHM in fflogs told me that Melee LB3 contributes around 800 DPS, which is almost the same DPS as the main healer. So it's always worth it to use LB3 IMO.
I ignore limit breaks because some one always gripes when it is used. I would rather not use it, be considered skillful enough to not have needed it, and then have people complain about not using the thing, rather than get singled out for everyone's bad mood. At this point I think PUGs make the LB meter useless. I think it would be better if it only popped when people on each other friend list partied up and call it "the power of friendship" instead. I'm only kidding about that last part. But the meter is still pointless in pugs other than to give bad players an excuse to blame someone else other than themselves.
Common sense tells me you don't use LB3 until you know the boss is gonna either get extremely low or die after it.
Using it halfway just to lower a few % is not worth the risk. You don't want to trade a potential heal LB3 lifesaver just for a laughable extra LB1 a bit later (LB1 does literally nothing).

If the numbers have not changed, LB1 is worth 2300 potency that scales off the group's WD.Common sense tells me you don't use LB3 until you know the boss is gonna either get extremely low or die after it.

If the group had any common sense they wouldn't be screwing up on mechanics and relying on a clutch to get them through a fight, LB1 literally does damage greater than the majority of buffed attacks in this game. Damage is damage afterall.

Regarding refusing to use LB3, I usually leave this to SAM or NIN due to the nature of BoTD and eyes. - However the only time I refuse to use LB is when I'm in a position where mechanics are going on.
Someone wanted me to LB during the single person jumping mechanic during Susano and threw a hissyfit during, luckily I didn't because I was targeted to jump over which would affect the whole group.
Let people time their LB3 because the animation-lock is pretty long and this is especially the case for casters.
LB3 is under powered for current content. Also in most cases DPS have very tight rotations that a LB channel+ animation will mess up. FOr the most part it's never going to be worth using outside of a scripted tank event. DPS it cuts into your own rotations too much and if you need to LB3 with a healer then you've already failed. IT's rare i've seen an healer LB3 save a group, more often it's the group gets fully raised and continues to make mistakes.
It needs to be reworked.
I actually want to see more varied LBs. It's just getting so boring seeing RDMs use the LB3 when it's not so much for the damage factor but more I feel they just want to show it off. The AOE flash can get annoying not to mention any RDM would be stopping their DPS whilst the LB is in progress (BRD, SMN, BLM at least have dots to continue the damage).
In all, if a player is confident that the situation warrants an LB then just use it. Unless you know people are dropping like flies and a healer one might be more beneficial, but to each their own...
you need LB3 DPS to clear Ex Susano? first time hearing this. anyways, it's all situational. really, if he's at 5% might as well do it because your party made it that far and show they know the mechanics but if it's during the third phase when he pulling out everything, it best to hold it for a situation for a full wipe.
Probably because of 2 reasons.
A) It's a personal dps loss.
B) If timed incorrectly it can kill you being animation locked for that long.
