They do cache some things client-side, though, and they've mentioned willingness to expand it to other things in future as needed. So the capability is there, it just seems to be paranoia over abuse which is crippling them more than any technical limitation.

Personally, I'm glad for their stance on modding. If anything is important enough in terms of QoL/gameplay to be modded in then it should be part of the base game for everyone; there's no excuse for not doing it. WoW was a huge mess in this department back when I used to play it. And that's one reason why I subscribe to FFXIV and not WoW.

The glamour log resolution will solve so many secondary QoL issues that it's almost ridiculous. I hope we hear some solid progress on this issue soon.

I'm all for removing it on my SMN and getting sustain back for sch and smn, as long as everyone shuts up about it after it is gone. The sustain is more important.

Well, I hope that this change to the accessories helps these tanks. I've given up on these veteran tanks for help, all I've gotten from them is the impression they're the old people who "back in my day..potions only cost a gil" Mindless complaining and backtracking..it's like going to SMN's and hearing how they want to summon a primal like the boss that summoned garuda, only to get a primal and complain. But I like my axe and I have learned to figure things out for myself so..with that said the gauge adjustment makes me happy and I wonder what Shake it off will do now.

See, I would feel sorry for PLD, but weren't you almost gloating over how much better it was than WAR? Seems that may have backfired.

I would assume they'll back track PLD but personally I like having it as my OT or MT. A PLD who knows their stuff is beyond helpful. They bragged, but with good reason. Problem was the vocal minority went and said "Oh! Look..this guy says pld is good! Spread the word! For he holds the truth! Praise him!" I'm not referring to anyone I guess I could replace him with "it" though! ^_^ I'm leveling it now, for my retainer. It's like dragging my feet through mud, even at 60 I do so much more on my war..i hope the 60's make it...more fun?

I do like the answer to the healer role question. "No...choose" I had a healer last night who didn't have Esuna on and instead kept using Rescue..good or bad, that's..that. I like the answers, some things he admits were a problem, others he says "You asked for it..quiet you." and others I can just feel the sense of confusion and the thought "if the playerbase had just one throat..."

If I have learned anything about SE in the last several years, it's that they will implement something in a way that is not how you expected and far more convoluted than necessary. Here's to hoping I'm wrong about the glamour situation

From the live letter answers, in all fairness a full black magic caster would mean full dps caster. Rdm can heal / raise, etc because they are white and black magic based. So, really do hope full black magic casters get to be the top dps caster classes again in tomorrows patch, because full black magic. Let's wait and see

I know it's not really on topic with what is being discussed here right now but I just wanted to say I'm so happy tanks are getting STR added to their gear. Casual tanks who have heard about the STR accessory meta have made me hate to DF my roulettes without a tank friend because without the skill to go along with that meta it is just... not meta? It's not good or effective that's for damn sure. Happy to see this get some attention, I'd like to go back to being able to DPS for more than 2 consecutive GCDs.

Even if the glamour log doesn't come until 5.0 (please be sooner) it would solve my inventory issues as around half of my slots are being taken up by glamour items.

I mean, depending on how they implement it, and whether or not its a translation thing, it might be exactly what you are looking for.

Oh come on. We don't have a "pathological" problem of hoarding when we want to save armors for future glamours because farming things up is annoying as heck. I have all combat jobs save for three above level 50 and thus save armor glamours for all of them (plus saving some leveling gear for the lower level ones), which is NOT some crazy thing. But it absolutely fills both my retainers (and armoury) to bursting. And that's after dumping everything I could that was on the Calamity Salvager and putting everything I could that I wouldn't want frequently (say, for spur of the moment screenshots in the open world) in the armoir.\

I'm glad you agree that something must be done to improve how SE makes use of inventory, though.

...that's true. What if they deal with it by deleting glamour entirely but letting you upgrade the stats on old gear via a long and arduous grind per item? We should brainstorm the worst ways they could fix it to make the eventual functionality seem less terrible in comparison!
