Were there seriously no changes done to Summoner? Still no point in using Physick, no mention about accidental use of Aetherflow causing your entire rotation to get screwed, Bane still sucking and only a small mention on Sustain? Ugh, makes it hard to want to use SMN as my main still.
glam want to talk glam here for a moment.I'm curious as to which particular features you feel FFXIV doesn't have that exists in the majority of other MMOs...notably features that exist in very similar formats, rather than being similar as a concept (i.e. glamour log) but differing significantly from game to game.
more interesting dungeons, want to talk of this?
and its the developers saying it to much for them to do some things.
Those adjustments are nuts. Why do people care so much about healing spells on a Damage Dealer so much? Did people bring SMNs to parties just for the raise? They brought them for damage, same as BLM.
They said they don't have plans to nerf Rdm or Sam anyways. Sans maybe Vercure but that is yet to see. Either way I think it's unecessary, RDM doesn't have an infinite mp pool that lets them raise forever, curing for an extended amount if time brings their dps down, which becomes detrimental at a certain point when you need to kill the mob faster since the party is in dire trouble.
As someone who has played many mmos, I'd say the answer is none. The Dev commitment in this game is outstanding and I'd love to know what other mmo had far more functionality.I'm curious as to which particular features you feel FFXIV doesn't have that exists in the majority of other MMOs...notably features that exist in very similar formats, rather than being similar as a concept (i.e. glamour log) but differing significantly from game to game.
Or better yet have SMNs get a trait to turn Physick into Sustain. Bam, problem solved for both skills. SCHs can heal their fairly manually if they need to but SMNs have no real way to keep Titan alive at all right now...
It sucks that our retainers dont get the same bag space as we players.
Glamour definitely counts. What we have now is a crippled shadow of a costume system, burdened by convoluted Prism use, limited customizability, and extreme inventory use. It hardly deserves to be called a costume system.I'm curious as to which particular features you feel FFXIV doesn't have that exists in the majority of other MMOs...notably features that exist in very similar formats, rather than being similar as a concept (i.e. glamour log) but differing significantly from game to game.
Things SE seems to have intense trouble with that other MMOs offer with apparent ease:
1. Multi-channel dye system
2. Plentiful bank space that is NOT rented
3. Instanced housing so that everyone has a home
4. Costume system with a wardrobe that saves appearances, and multiple saved outfits you can swap between whenever
Basically everything that they respond to with the "but our servers can't handle it" excuse.
I want to know more about this.Yoshida: However, we’re planning to touch on glamour in the future, and we’re planning functions such as accessing glamour history.
I think the reason for this is that in a best-case scenario SMNs are actually in a good place. The problem is that they're probably the absolute hardest job to do well on now (barring MCHs who simply cannot compete no matter how well they play now) and are very easily screwed over by things they can't control (such as a fizzled Aetherflow spender or a death wiping out stacks). What SMN largely needs is QoL fixes rather than full on balance adjustments which might be why they didn't touch on things as much. Were there seriously no changes done to Summoner? The only real 'balance' related adjustments I think SMNs need is easing up on the Bane nerf a little and giving us back Sustain. Everything else is just QoL stuff related to stopping Aetherflow stacks being wasted or lost on death.
