It was a really charming event. And yeah as far as you or probably me or alot of others, that seems boringm but eh nobody died so

Yelled at in the DF though, right? Pretty sure those fights are tuned to the fact that most of the raid won't be playing anywhere near optimally - healers included. If anyone is being that much of a prat about it leave and re-queue. Healing is reactionary –*if the group plays well you can dps, it is totally up to how well the other players perform whether healers get dps windows or not.

Adding most important part of being a healer is being calm. If a healer stays calm they usually can see openings to dps.

If I'm brand new to the content, I'll add some dps but maybe not as much cause I wanna make sure everyone is alive and that I'm learning mechanics so I don't die. Once I learn it DPS becomes more prominent.
But it really is a two way street, can't contribute DPS if people are dying.

Sorry for the slow replies some great opinions here. And as far as the netflix healer i can get that at this point toto rak is pretty boring. I mean honestly I was reading a post on glamours in a 50 dungeon the other day, but usually I do try to dps so that i can move things along. haha

I'm on the stance that it shouldn't be mandatory, but is greatly appreciated. Outside of savage content anyways. When I play healer (just started recently since i'm shooting for the goddess of magic title) I try to deal damage whenever I can.

It's actually not mandatory, just something extra you can do. It's like a nice cake and then you add the topping to the cake. I dps when I can, but I don't yell at another healer for not dpsing.

I know, but a lot of people who blindly follow meta complain and treat it as mandatory even to the point of harassing others. Even in something like 4-man content DF which is ridiculous.
also I love your sig. RWBY is one of my top favs.

DPSing as healer is about feeling confident with the fight, here is my own example:
First time healing Susano EX: 200/300 DPS
Now Healing Susano Ex: 900-1.1k DPS

If a healer isn't DPSing and I notice they have time to, I don't give them a comm and instantly brand them, in my mind, as a trash healer. You have spells for a reason. Cleric Stance is more or less gone. You've run out of excuses to be lazy. If you want to aspire to be a bad healer, then great job. You're doing really well.
