    Guys, an MMO shouldn't just "give you a free heal" there SHOULD be a mechanic that makes you work for it.

    Currently, WHM is highest HPS output. We don't NEED a super overpowered 600 potency heal. I think plenary is perfect as it is. CureIII and top the rest off with a free smaller heal..

    No, not perfect; but it's workable in it's current form. If SE gave us a 600 potency aoe heal, with no mechanics to ramp it up it would just be ridiculously overpowered.

    I won't speak for every Whm in this thread, but it does appear that you've completely missed the point along with the strawman that you've erected. Whm doesn't need another weak aoe heal. PI would have been much better off mechanically and thematically as a stoneskin 2 replacement. DB is already stoneskin with a different name and some new requirements thrown on top. SE could have easily done the same thing to PI. The cd is already there. They could have made each application of an aoe heal refresh the 10 second confession timer. They could have had the % stack up to some amount with each application of confession. It would have been far more useful for helping your party survive hard hitting aoes than a weak aoe heal and much more deserving of the level 70 spot.

    The more gates, the more risk or the more effort for a skill to function should include an equivalent reward to justify using said skill. It's pretty basic design. A good example is Lillies, if it was back to the old values (pre release) no one would be trying to fish for them because it is simply not worth the time and mp to do so, not even for "Stoneskin".

    This new philosophy of making you jump through hoops to vastly limit the minor amount of healing from the new skills is idiotic. Why? Because your just making the new heals lackluster because

    a) The basic kit the class has already meets and exceeds the recommended amount of healing required for all content currently in the game as well as potentially future content already.

    and

    b) Trying to make an identity of a pure healer that basically limits the function of the job while at the same time trying to make the healing not invalidate one or more of the other healers, lest you break out of the pure healer identity.

    Since you already exceed the requirements you then need to come up with a solution to the problem of skill increases via increased level cap to which SE's method ended up as removal of older skills to be given as new skills and to create niche skills that are gated to make sure that we actually get new expansion skills and that the healing is limited to our already overflowing healing kit, like putting a few drops of water in a cup that is nearly flowing over.

    PI is vastly better then the old version and I doubt it will change drastically again (I'm already surprised they did more the number adjustments as game developers are the most stubborn people on the planet) but it's design problems are still valid and already echo a breaking point in the future.

    I look forward to what White Mage's new identity is in the next expansion.

    The 1000 limit is bad, it's even worse on mobile phones. I also remembered to point out that the only thing the confession stack timer does is be annoying. You could completely remove it and the skill wouldn't be that much stronger if at all because it's function already locks it behind a cooldown timer. If you held on to stacks it still has a CD after you use the bloody ability.

    The changes to Plenary Indulgence with the introduction of the new Savage tier has been an interesting experience. I think that the change has been mostly done with the idea of the Savage tier healing requirements in mind. With proper timing, it saves me MP and a GCD that is better spent dpsing during heavy subsequent party aoe damage phases. Is it perfect the way it is now? I don't believe so. But is it viable compared to before? Definitely. I feel that the 60second cooldown should be cut to 30 seconds due to how short the buff timer is. There are times that I feel that the MP cost gets steep when you have to cast another AoE heal to extend the timer just for an idea of a spot healing potency boost top up through PI. In essence, I believe it could serve better as a party shield instead due to steep costs when Thin Air is down.

    that is exactly what it's for. people complaining here are speaking from normal and ex trials and dungeon roulette experience.

    correct me if I'm wrong but Elysium last night ran with WHM SCH DRK PLD SAM MCH DRG/(or was it NIN?) in their comp. and they've consitenly gotten past the DPS check. WITHOUT expanded balance. heck the SCH doesn't even do the Selene opener.

    Take note: WHM DRK MCH DRG. and then here we have the forums WHERE WHM and DRKs are complaining about not being viable in savage.

    I've seen top players playing the supposedly non viable jobs to their highest level using day one gear and that's all I need to see.

    I suggest people stop wasting time with all the DOOM AND GLOOM the same whm and schs here on the forums are spreading. they may have some minor issues but as of right now YEs your class is viable in savage. NO you probably wont see Neo exdeath anytime soon. maybe in several weeks after buying all your Creation tomestone gear.

    if you're a SCH running out of mama you're doing something wrong. or your teammates need to redo bardhams mettle 2nd boss. if your tank pills 3 mobs and you can't keep him up with pyshick I suggest you put fey union on your hotbar. fairy gauge is ridiculously fast to build up now due to the aetherflow trait buff. oh and it's also as long as sacred soil now AND it won't use up the gauge when the tank moves put of range. Do rouse plus whispering dawn and fey union plus e4e and watch as your tank never dies

    if you're a WHM thinking all my powerful heals are useless in lakshmi.. those big and plentiful heals are meant for superior stability and progression in Savage

    if you're an AST, ENJOY the new card rework. you no longer have to fish for that expanded balance. class is more fun and there's actual card management now.

    as of 4.05, all healers are fine. git gud.



    p.s.elysium supposedly is wearing overmelded i320 crafted gear. not 100% sure tho.

    Honestly though, does SE really need to make every spell fit into non-raid content considering raid is sort of the end-game? I saw tons of excuses in multiple threads saying PI is good for raids but they suck everywhere else so they need to buff it/make it better. But at the same time keeping it nerfed in raids? Because as it stands it excels in what it's made for. Any sort of buff to it I believe would tip healer slots in whitemages favor. At least with raw potency or switching it to work with lillies.

    I got three main complaints about WHM now.
    1. I feel PI is pretty good now, but the duration of stacks could use a minor adjustment to something like 15 seconds or something. The rest seems to be fine, it just feels really tight at times and I don't think 15 instead of 10 seconds would be too much. As I said to an acquaintance earlier, PI is good now, but could use some more minor tweaking.
    2. I still feel Square lost inspiration with the new abilities. They just took old ones we had already away from us and gave them back later, with more conditions to be met (eg. DB). Would have liked something new, but meh.
    3. PLEASE let DB only take one Lily or make it that the skill actually profits from using more... please. It's really, really annoying.

    Be careful what you wish for.

    SE could very well take a request to make DB "benefit" from using more lilies by nerfing the base absorb to 10% and making 2 lilies up to 13% and three lilies 15%.

    I really don't understand most of the complaints about PI. It helps to limit the impact of crit RNG during crucial moments of high AOE damage, where some party members get topped off but others do not, and allows you to recover a GCD / ability use that otherwise would be used to top people off. It cements WHM as absolutely, without dispute, the powerhouse of the healing classes. WHM will be the first ones solo-healing content and will probably always have a progression spot. If anything, WHM AOE healing is too strong. It's at the point where encounters are going to have to be built around WHM healing capacity or be trivialized.

    And for goodness' sake, just say NO to Stoneskin. The fewer shielding abilities the healing meta has, the better, as far as I'm concerned. There is a reason Adloquium and Aspected Benefic do not stack, and it's the same reason that Stoneskin was killed and should stay dead.

    If Plenary Indulgence's cooldown is reduced to 30-45 seconds (even if they shave 25-40 points from Cure Potency), it would make WHM healing an even better, more involved experience. The Confession stack lasting 12-15 seconds would be a blessing.
