The future of FF series will depend on the devs realizing that RPG players place a high value on exploration.

FFXIII had pretty much none of it while Skyrim has it in spades.

SquareEnix has tried very hard to evolve the genre into something new and at the same time profitable, but instead of simply improving the foundation; they sought to remove them. What a stupid move this was.
