Yar, Hallowed Ground's real great. No denyin' that. What's awful, an' tha real heart a' what tha guy's whinin' about is tha general delay on effects that we've all bemoaned fer years. Communicatin' an all that.

Hallowed Ground, Rage of Halone, Sheltron, Benediction, heals an shields in general. Surecast, Manaward, even Swiftcast sometimes. Even telegraphs, if we gettin' technical. How many o' ya've fumbled onna these 'cause the universe in which ya pressed that shite exists a second in tha past o' the universe ya performed tha action in? Issa lame an' completely unintuitive design what stinks up tha whole combat system.

Sure we're all veterans here, an' ya probably all know how it works by now, so e'en if it happens again yer never as dissapointed as ya were tha first time. But even if ye get used ta eatin shite yer still eatin' it. My condolences ta tha OP an' tha sich that left 'im shitter-shattered enough ta make this post inna first place.

That's hardly unique to PLD, DRK's living dead has a similar short cast animation and Hallowed Ground is infinitely better than Living Dead (Which really IS an 'oh shit' button, there is almost no other situation in which you'd use it)

I use it when I notice other party members are taking a lot of damage (ignoring AOE and what not), it gives the healer time to focus on them and ignore me for a short time. I find it very useful.

Here is the deal with HG,this is not by any shape or form a oh shit button.it is a tank buster.I will goive you an example.in Susano extreme,you can activate HG at the begginong of stormsplitter cast not only it will negate 100% of damage but it will also prevent you from getting that slashing dbuff.delaying the tank swap
So in conclusion,look at it as a planned ability,instead of a emergency skill and you will realize its full potential.
