If you want control over how much is pulled, the best way of doing that is to queue as tank.

My dude, someone asking you to slow down isn't them insulting your skills as a tank. It's them making a request based on their own comfort level so that the party can be successful. If a new healer asks you to slow down, they're subtly admitting they need the breathing room to get used to the dungeon and there's nothing wrong with that at all.

This exactly. There is no correct pull size that you can blanket over every run, and waiting for people to discuss what's best for the party isn't practical most of the time. The "pull less" group is no more/less valid than the "pull more" group.

The healer only wins that game if the tank stops pulling large, a tank can very well continue to pull and die if they want to challenge you.

Power plays don't do anyone any good and are bad for parties in general.

I will slow down for a healer that asks, but I will start the instance at the pace I feel is correct. I don't know what pace each healer in a PUG wants, and so far, have never had a request for a particular pace at the very start of a round. Just understand that taste in pace is different between players and there is no reliable way for the tank to start with a pace that is going to be ideal for everyone.

I very much agree however, that success of the group is more important than the pace.

    EDIT:
A second thought occurred to me. Let's assume a healer can heal the pull in question, but would like the tank to slow down. In other words, the tank wants to play one way, the healer wants to play another way, and both ways are technically viable for your group's skill level. In your opinion, whose playstyle preference should take priority? Would your answer change if the tank wanted a slower pace and the healer wanted a faster pace (assuming both paces are within the skill level of the group)?

Use the chat log. If you receive grief, leave or finish then blacklist. Communication is ridiculously effective in parties more so than regular players you roll with. However I think it's good practice to play with others that don't fall in with your comfort level of play. All about those additional skills regarding role adaptability.

Im actually not any biiig pull in a dungeon that can possibly done Ive done them, I use to do small pulls as I started off as a healer first but what I realized was that big pulls was apart of the game and I had to get use to them so everyone else should as well. The issue is that lots of tanks dont use their invincible when they should hg, living dead ,etc and healers dont use rouse on scholar, the new divine seal etc we have the tools for these pulls people just dont plan for them when they should because its standard practice by now

I've noticed this too. The first week's launch and even into the 2nd where the tanks would pull multiple trash groups. Thinking in a 'end-game HW' mentality that the healers (especially low iLvl) returning or leveling or even new to the dungeon could output enough heals (without them popping def.cooldowns).

I've even had a PUG Dps- defend me. Telling the tank to chill. That was heartwarming.

It's a no-win situation when it comes to tanking in this game. Pull "too little", you're a scrub tank. Pull "too much", you're a troll tank. And that definition will change from group to group. I try to be reasonable and ask what people would be comfortable with at the start of a dungeon with mixed results. If you want to stop tanks from being pull-crazy, the culture will need to change first and that is easier said than done.
