    RDM Controller HotBar

    Hey all, can you post how you have your controller hot bar? I play on PS4 and want to maximize my hotbar without having too many things on the 2nd set. Those tend to be out of sight out of mind for me. TIA!

    i play with keybord, but when i do play with a controller, out of being too lazy to sit up, it is as follows;

    R2 face buttons

    __ __ ___Macro (/ac Impact <t> /ac Jolt <t>)
    VerAero__ __ _ __VerThunder
    _______oGCD attack (forget the name of the single target atm)

    R2 d-pad

    _______ VerCure (doesnt need to be here, just do this when soloing)
    VerStone ________ VerFire
    ________ oGCD AoE
    (forget the name)

    L2 face buttons

    ____ manification
    WS 1___________WS 3
    ______WS 2

    L2 d-pad

    _____ Dash In
    Scatter__________WS AoE
    ______Jump Back

    I do have Flare and Holy on R2/L2, both sides, in the same spots, Holy on square, and Flare on Circle, since i imagine left/right sides liek the UI gauge.

    The other oGCDs are on the R2/L2 buttons, such as embolden, since you want to press it before your flare/holy anyways.

    You could also probably macro Flare/Holy to another button, but it seems too risky to do imo, already bad enough impact/jolt is a macro with this set up.

    I personally keep a single standard (non-cross) hotbar visible near my cross hotbar for skills that I have on my extended or w (double-tap) hotbars that I want to keep track of (mainly oGCD skills).

    Different hotbar layouts are going to suit different people. You're going to want to flesh out your bars in a way that makes you comfortable. However, it does help to look over others' bars to get a feel for how you might want to plan yours out. To that end, here's a document containing all of my (tentative) cross-hotbars. The Red Mage hotbar is near the bottom.

    For reference: "1" and "2" are hotbars 1 and 2 (I can tap RB to toggle between them), "W" is for the W-cross bar (double tap LT or RT), and "Ex" is for extended bars (RT+LT or LT+RT). Cells colored purple on hotbar 2 copy the action slotted in hotbar 1. I also use the alternate way of visualizing the bar, where the d-pad slots are always left of the center and the ABXY slots are always on the right.

    As for explaining my RDM setup: I keep most all of my (useful) spells and essential oGCD skills on the primary bar. Situational and less-often-used oGCD are in the right extended bar, and the left extended bar is for "junk". Hotbar 2 is my "melee mode". When I'm ready to spend the mana gauge I press RB and gain access to my essential melee skills.

    Hrm... I've yet to reach lvl 70 but my plans are like this...

    Extended Crosshotbar L > R = Set 1 Left side
    Extended Crosshotbar R > L = Set 1 Right side

    Set 3 for single target mode
    Set 4 for AoE mode

    Set 1 Left side:
    X -> Jolt
    O -> Verfire
    T -> Verstone
    S -> Impact
    Right -> Acceleration

    Set 1 Right side:
    X -> Riposte
    O -> Zwerchhau
    T -> Redoublement
    S -> Embolden

    Set 3 Left side:
    X -> Verflare
    O -> Verthunder
    T -> Veraero
    S -> Verholy
    Down -> Lucid Dreaming
    Right -> Swiftcast
    Up -> Manafication

    Set 3 Right side:
    X -> Corps-a-corps
    O -> Contresixte
    T -> Displacement
    S -> Fleche
    Up -> Addle

    Set 4 Left side:
    X -> Scatter
    O -> Verthunder
    T -> Veraero
    S -> Moulinet
    Down -> Lucid Dreaming
    Right -> Tether
    Up -> Manafication

    Set 4 Right side:
    X -> Corps-a-corps
    O -> Contresixte
    T -> Displacement
    S -> Fleche
    Up -> Addle

    Set 2 Right side:
    O -> Limit Break

    Btw I mainly keep myself on Set 3, circling between 4 and 2, and use 1 as extended as a sort of "universal set".

    As I've yet to get to 70 I may move some skills here and there. Not yet sure where to put the heals for example. May set them on Set 2 as a Support Set.

    I don't controller, but just wanted to put this here for people who want to share their layouts visually without having to worry about the board's formatting. If you stick things between CODE tags, it'll preserve your spacing.

    Ex:
    Code:
            <- Eight spaces
        <- Four spaces                    <- 20 spaces
