I don't really see how having multible gun jobs is any different than multible sword weilders or multible staff weilders.

Honestly, only 2 job could possibly fit this.. 1) Ranger. but sadly this would be redundant because BRD is filling this spot unless they repurpose the job somehow. & 2) Probably the most obvious would be Corsair (with gunblades hopefully lol), Because it just makes perfect since with so many pirates everywhere lol
I agree with this plan but I feel like they often implement things that run directly counter to it. If leveling can be enjoyed as content, why do they keep adding new jobs that are halfway or more leveled when you get them? If they want to add more jobs, why do they cut some like Ranger and Thief out with the way they've done others? So weird.
They'd add Corsair or Sniper to the evolution of Machinist if they do add an additional job for it. Musketeer isn't even a job or class in any of the games.
I would rather someone with a Gunblade honestly. Magitek Knight?
But as for any "branching" then nope, please nope. Look at SCH/SMN.
Branching off has been killing SMN. Also, they need to fix MCH before
we get anymore "gun" people. It's a mess rn. xD
Next two job should be Tank and Heal
AST questline already give a touch on Geomancer, despite the skill animation share with WHM, i bet it is just a placeholder as 5.0 still would be a long long way
and no more branching, it prove to be a mess when come to balancing, just look at SMN and SCH
even if we forget about balancing issue, there was a Musket guild in limsa lominsa, it exist since 1.0 but when 2.0 hit ACN was add instead of musketeer, and MCH at 3.0, i have doubt SE have any intention to create another gun/musket type DPS before 6.0
They'll also never do another branching job again. Not after the dumpster fire that Arcanist is. Plus as much as I'd like a nice rifle using class, the Musketeer dreams are long gone. It's best we accept this and move on.
I'll believe that when they remove the Musketeer signage from Limsa Lominsa. That said, I think the best application of this would a series of dual-wielding and no-wielding jobs.
a) Duel wielding guns (A second gun goes in the off-hand slot)
b) Duel wielding medium blades or blunts (Rogue already has short blades)
c) Weaponless spellcaster (eg dancer)
d) Tanky tank (eg summon magitek armor mount in tank stance)
