Suddenly getting DX11 errors with great frequency.

I've been occasionally getting errors since the day I started playing, perhaps maybe once or twice every few weeks. They've of a more minor nature, simply forcing the game to close, as opposed requiring a total system restart or inducing blue screens. They also only ever occur while I'm in the middle of gameplay.

However, ever since Stormblood released, the frequency of them has gradually increased, and it's hit a new high as of the 4.01 patch, occurring every hour or less.

For a time, toning down the graphics (Namely, enabling low-detail models on distant objects) seemed to stop it. However, when I logged in today (After a Windows 10 update, coincidentally), I was getting smacked with them every 10 minutes or less (One of them immediately after logging in), and it was making it a huge hassle to play.

I typically play in windowed mode, but have currently switched over to full screen to see if that stabilizes things at all.

The errors were almost always of the "ffxiv_dx11.exe followed by random error code" sort, with a single kernel32 error mixed in at one point. I also sometimes just get the "unexpected problem" error, instead.

I'm using a Nvidia GTX 1060 and have tried several suggestions regarding tweaking its settings that seemed to fix the problem for others, but to no avail.

Same issue for me, as I've written in some of the other threads. Already tried everything I can on my end (hardware monitoring, removing all OC's, turning down graphics, reinstalling, different GPU drivers, reinstalling Windows etc.). Not a single problem in any other game, e.g., I'm running Witcher 3 on Ultra @ 1440p without any issues.

One thing to notice: it's just that the .exe has dx11 in its name, it's not necessarily a DX11 error per se since many people reported the same issues under DX9.

At this point, I'm just waiting for a fix from SE or Nvidia (since AMD has released a new driver that apparently fixes these crashes). With that many recent reports from paying players it's kind of sad you hear nothing from either of them. :/

Definitely go post this on the Nvidia forums and make awareness on this issue just like in the ati board. After enough players posted on the ati board, ati released drivers to fix the issue

Well, playing in full screen seems to have resolved it, so I guess I'll just deal with it being slightly more troublesome to view other windows for the time being.

Just start new new topic in their forums. The more topics complaining about this issue, the better chance nvidia will try to fix it

Welp, now it's started crashing even in full screen mode, sometimes before I can even finishing loading into the game. I really don't understand why the issue seems to get progressively worse as time passes, especially when the error code is exactly the same each time.

EDIT: I had a system restore prior to the date I started receiving the constant errors, so I just rolled back to then, then disabled automatic Windows device updates. Hopefully this will keep it working until a concrete fix is found.
