Not able to receive squadron unlock quest

I have all objectives to get the squadron unlock quest but don't have the quest for it available. I mean I have second pertinent in my gc but the gc npc character that is supposed to give me the quest doesn't have it available for me to pick it up and I don't have the quest in my quest log. So basically atm I can't get a squadron even if I wanted one. Anybody else have or ever had this issue and if so did and how did they get it resolved.

The NPC won't let you do anything else before unlocking it IF you have met the requirements. Are you sure? Did you do the GC hunting log 2 and not just your job one?

Do you mean I have to complete rank 3 of the hunt log for the gc? Cause rank 3 I Don't have complete. So if that one needs to be done to then that's why I can't get it.

Just rank 2 is needed.
So you have achieved Second Storm Lieutenant and when you are at Limsa Lominsa GC the Storm Personnel Officer doesn't have a quest for you?
I believe it's called "Rising to the Challenge"

No it doesn't have that quest for me. I wonder how I can get it to give it to me or am I stuck and should put in a ticket about it.

Since you seem to be second-lieutenant, if there's no quest in Limsa, you will need to put a ticket.

Anyway, before doing a ticket : Are you sure you not accidentaly validated it (everything is following in one run when you become second-lientenant)? In that case, you need to get in the barrack to talk to the pnj.

Apart being second lieutenant... are you sure to ask to the proper GC? XD

Hahaha oh yes, I switched to the Flames recently and I still have to stop myself running to Gridania every time I want to hand something in. XD

I know this is a very old thread, but in case someone has the same niche problem down the road, here was my solution.
When going through the promotion cutscene for 2nd Lieutenant where you normally unlock Squadrons, I sped through it and said no to the dialogue, but then couldn't find the quest to accept after the fact and couldn't access the Barracks in the GC base.
Turns out that for me, it was because I wasn't currently equipping a DoW/DoM job, so the quest wasn't showing up. You need to have a combat job (at a high enough level) for the quest to show up.
Might not fix everyone's issue, but that was mine. Simple fix if it is though.....
