How Would Viera Fit In XIVs lore?

I mean objectively give reasons why adding a highly demanded and beloved race found in FF canon would only be a bad thing?

There are no objective reasons to not implement it, just as there are no objective reasons to add them. It's all subjective.

My personal belief is that Viera are shallow, immature, and tasteless creations. They are not only ugly, but are nothing more than bunny girls.

Now true, some people don't share my opinion. Some people like them. I do not agree with them, and they do not agree with me obviously. But their reasons for wanting them are no more "objective" than my reasons for not wanting them.

And as I said, just because players want a thing, that does not make it a good idea. And some players wanting something is certainly not an objective reason for doing it.

If they add Viera, I'll obviously have to deal with it or quit playing the game (I'd have to deal with it because it's not enough to make me quit the game), but I have the right to express my opinion to SE that it would be a bad decision, and I will exercise that right.

Also, aside from the poll not being about Viera specficially (it was "Mammalian demi-beastmen"), it only received 28% of votes, which even if we accept that result statistically, isn't representative of the community and was closely matched by "hybrid races".

And yet SE decided to add in these tiny lizard waifus that exist in the same, human + animal bits character niche as miqo'tes, but even more kawaii uguu, and you don't see me storming into au ra threads arguing that they should be removed from the game because they're weirdly disfigured for not having ears or quitting the game over it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Just because you don't like a race doesn't mean it's a bad idea to bring it into the game. Also, you may have noticed, but a large chunk of XIV is all about fan-service. Honestly, they wouldn't be any worse than miqo'te or au ra. Cutesy little characters with a few animals bits slapped on.

It'd certainly do little favor to any beloved race or point of FF cannon if that race is merely dropped into the game as a sale point with near-zero context (as per Au Ra).

At present SE cannot even provide half-decent cloth physics, but a few face choices, any unbound facial features (e.g. horn choices), etc. While there's certainly nothing inherently bad about adding something, keep in mind that what you add hastily can never be fully repaired. Later revisions to plot connection or race introduction, for instance, are only felt by players new to the connective content.

In short, what's the hurry, especially when there's so much to improve upon that can only make the introduction of said race more satisfying? If it means so much to you, shouldn't your emphasis be on its surrounding content, such as the themes and locales of the expansion in which it may be released, and the level of detail available to players?

Personally I couldn't care less whether or not Viera are entered if they somehow manage to seem at least as aesthetically pleasing and contextualized as the currently available races. If not, they'll be an eyesore to me. Simple as that. There are some versions of the Viera I find okay, others I find ugly. That's just personal taste. Personally, I would take almost any other popular race idea over them, unless there were intriguing lore ideas that demand they be and look as Viera (which there could easily be).

XIV had an official race poll, and Viera won. Every week or so, a new Viera thread pops up. There are giant forum posts of Viera threads. Yoshi P is constantly addressing questions about them. It is the most requested race.

No. No they did not. Mammalian demi-beastmen was part of said vote you are referring to, in which Viera was used as an example to explain what that category was. Stop claiming this bs narrative as fact.

Well.. Considering YP stepped into the public space to talk about Viera shortly before HW released... It seems silly to say it's not a highly requested feature.. Not to mention the many polls.. including this one.

Yoshi-P stepped out to talk about it due to concept art being shown that he didn't want shown. Said concept art being that of the Au'Ra being drawn as Viera.

Again no, Mammalian demi-beastmen was the winner with Viera being used as an example to explain what that category was. In which said "Viera" concept art, was of the Au'Ra but drawn as Viera.

It's cool if you guys want Viera, but stop with this bs fact bending to fit your narratives.
