I'm curious to listen to that podcast (not forthe "toxic" part or anything).
Do you know where I could find it?

it's Mr Happy's video. Just be ready to listen to the guy brag about himself for a little less than 2 hours lol
And watch Mr Happy nod about 320,000 times to everything the guy says lol
But in all seriousness...MrHappy looked a little uneasy haha.

Player

Really nothing shocking said at all most of this community is full of care bears that are easily offended and want Shinryu nerfed instead of getting good.

He doesn't represent the raiding community tho. There's a reason why everyone knows this guy (and it's not because of his elite skills).
A lot of raiding folks are very friendly people. Also, if you are really interested in raiding see if your FC guild raids or join an FC guild that does raid. Trust me, raiding isn't all about this guy.
A lot of us have fun, we laugh and joke on discord, we get the raid done and we accomplish a lot of things and we also don't act like it's a high level position at a high stress employment either. Trust me...just look around and you'll find a good one! Have hope!
I dated a hardcore raider once.
What was I smoking....
Anyway, I've met some cool people that hardcore raid but I'll be completely honest with you. I've met more of these types of people that weren't good people at all than the ones who were decent. I've been burned far to many times to want to even bother.

not going to Lie: the pople who felt offended by the things he might said, they should probably think about that for a second.
Why do u feel offended? Maybe because he is right and you dont want to realize it or u just ignorant to. One thing i do have to say is that he is one of the rare people who actually says what he thinks and not just tries to make something sound nice and easy.
overall my opinion: the People who are mad at that are 99% of the time that type of people who actually cause alot of the problem that the Raiders are looking like they are Elitist etc. which is a shame.
About Raid community:
you cannot pick up everyone with "velvet gloves" or what the hell ever if they never learn etc., if they don't realize what they did wrong, tell them!
If they refuse to listen or getting absolutely upset about it, GTFO!
its that simple. you need at least some sort of "thick Skin" when it comes to raiding, especially when you are rading HC or Semi-HC. Those people want to clear things quick, not necessary World/Server first but not beeing able to be critizied etc.,this type of raiding is not for you. Heck if i F***k up people tell me! If i dont realizeit or if i do a mistake too many times people have the right to be mad at me, and i have to take it caus it is my fault.
Thick skin, Growing some pairs.. that is all i can say. u cannot treat everyone like an Eggshell
That is, unfortunantely the only thing that really botheres me on them tbh. As much as i laugh my arse of of some of theri vids, u can clearly notice that some of them really lack the knowledge, well, or simply arent that crazy when it coems to raiding and thats fine. But if u want to talk about Class or Game specific stuff , you definetly should know what u are saying ans u should also be aware of who is listening. New people might take those "not so accurate" advises seriously and that reflects in theris playstyles in a negative way.

LOL. Um no.
You're not even close.
1. You can raid without name calling. I left that kind of stuff in grade school.
2. You can raid and have fun doing it
3. You can raid and create lasting friendships from folks you meet from those raids.
4. Joking and laughing in discord is permitted without penalty of perjury.
5. There is an equilibrium (oh daaaaaaamn a Sophia pun) with having fun and getting the job done
I'm sorry you do not see these things are possible, but trust me, there are a lot of raiders out there who have fun raiding
Finally, I wished I had a pair..i always wondered what that was like (i heard they feel like a cross between an out of body experience and rolling in freshly mowed grass in slow motion while listening to Air Supply). But that's what I heard![]()

You can't marry the idea of coddling people, and caring about their feelings, with having fun. You can have fun and try your hardest.LOL. Um no.

Xenos is right in pretty much everything he said, and some of it seemed more lighthearted than serious. What he forgot to mention, that would have tied a nice bow on his point, is that it all depends on what speed of a raid group you're comfortable with. If your group is more casual, obviously they wouldn't really have precedence to be critical of anything.
The whole point is, if you want to get stuff done in a reasonable amount of time, you can't coddle your team. He's not saying everyone in a raid group needs to trash talk each other. That's just his persona, and how his friends have fun, he gave the context for it. He's just saying you can't leave everything at, "Better luck next time, you did alright" when someone is clearly messing up. If you have a raid group that makes a serious goal of clearing, that won't net you results. Fact.
And that's because progression raiding requires you defining the problems causing wipes, and adjusting them appropriately. Sometimes, you will have to single someone out, because they are the cause of you not clearing. Sometimes it's because there's easier ways to handle a mechanic. In some cases, for more binary reasons, like not making a DPS check meaning your DPS just ain't up to par. You're gonna need to criticize someone eventually, and if they don't get better, you won't clear. Ultimately, his group, and any group that cares about clearing efficiently, has no fun sucking or being bad. They have fun by performing. So it's really all about speed. And if you can't be honest about the speed of a raid group you need, you'll have a bad time, regardless of how nice they are.
