    Good luck!

I've made a separate thread as well so other people will see it: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...n-Nvidia-cards

Benchmark still running without issues – I actually read the time wrong before. Has been running for 6 hours (7 now, actually), not 4.

I won't say it is fixed but I could play for 6 hours straight yesterday after making the following changes:
    - disabled Windows 10 game mode
    - disabled AA
    - enabled Occlusion Culling

Maybe this helps other people as well.
And now I am thinking we could create a master list with things to change when you get this error - since different things seem to help for different systems ...

Sorry that it didn't work for you. :/

It definitely helped with my system though – I left the benchmark running over night, haven't had a single crash in like 17 hours now. It's definitely an issue where there's no single fix for everyone (otherwise AMD owners wouldn't have the same problems).

Did you already try some of the other suggestions? Specifically:

    - Disabling any overlays (like Discord, RivaTuner Statistics Server (comes with Afterburner, so you might want to uninstall that if you just installed Afterburner to lower the voltage – sorry, forgot to mention that))
    - Setting the card to "prefer maximum performance" in the Nvidia Control Panel (you can also do this via a profile just for FFXIV so it doesn't apply all the time)
    - Running the game in fullscreen

Aside from those three things, I personally also:

    - Tried disabling my CPU overclock
    - Reinstalled Windows
    - Disabled game mode, streaming and all the other stuff that came with the Windows 10 CU
    - Reinstalled the game (copied over an installation from a friend who has no crashes so I can ascertain that I don't have any corrupted files)
    - Tried turning down the graphics settings to the lowest possible
    - Uninstalled Dropbox since the current version has an issue under Windows 10 where it floods the event viewer (see https://www.tenforums.com/software-a...0-entries.html)
    - Tried running the game under admin mode and Windows 7 compatibiliy mode
    - Checked my RAM with MemTest86
    - Switched out my 32GB RAM with a 16GB kit
    - Tried several different Nvidia drivers (basically all that officially support my 1080 Ti) with several different configurations
    - Tried disabling G-SYNC
    - Tried connecting my monitor over HDMI instead of DisplayPort
    - Checked all my system temperatures under load (all way down in the green, I have very good cooling and even applied liquid metal to both my CPU and GPU die, so I wasn't expecting issues there anyway)
    - Switched to my old GPU (a 980 Ti – had the same issues, although it was also quite heavily factory overclocked, so my voltage increase might have helped there too)
    - Updated my Mainboard BIOS to the newest version
    - Installed all the current Visual C++ runtimes (you could do it manually, but I used https://www.sereby.org/site/All%20in%20One%20Runtimes)

This is really irritating, two day's gaming without crashes - and now they are back.
Yesterday morning I could do the Menagerie three times without a single crash and a few hours later it crashed several times in one attempt.
And I was really careful to change nothing in the OS - never touch a running system and so on ...

    Hi ???,

No updates on this yet, the QA and dev teams are still investigating it. These types of issues take time.

So uhh hey FFXIV reps. Any chance you may want to at least....at least acknowledge this apparent issue?

Admittedly I am yanking Nvidia's arm constantly. I am getting these crashes during progression in raids and it is no fair that my group has to deal with this.

See now not all people with these cards are having problems, which leads me to believe for some of you guys it's a hardware problem.

And there is a difference in the brand of card you buy. Zotac/XFX and a few others, it's best to buy their stock card as their cooling is and voltage regulation is not always there. Sure they may release a few good products, but they're mostly trash. MSI /ASUS / EVGA use a higher grade cooling system and components. MSI will tell you on their website that they're using military grade caps and VRMs, which these things do make a difference, especially in factory overclocked versions. Alot of the cards from the latter three have much better cooling,HQ components, and are usually speced to draw in a little more power than the others. My experience (and others) point to much more stable operation with these. An old ASUS 980 I had actually ran cool enough in some situations that the card would completely cut off the fans. Kinda freaked me out when I saw this, but this is a feature built into that card given the HSF on that is really good.

Maybe, but I've defaulted to stock voltage and have water cooling. I had no crashes prior to 4.01.

I was considering that possibility as well but much like Dominic, I have been using this card before 4.x without problems and - more importantly - SE support admitted to me that this was a problem their developers were looking into and to keep an eye on the forums.
Also I find it unlikely that a hardware problem would affect only one game ... which appears to be the pattern here.

SE could really clarify things by making a statement here either way.

I took the OC off of my RAM. It's 2133 but was running XMP for 3000. It has been fine so far, but other changes I've made have resulted in supposed fixes only to crash again days later. If it lasts a week then I'll be tentatively convinced. As to how this ram speed could be related to code in 4.01...I have no idea.

If you're using OC RAM and think you'll lose alot...you won't. The tl;dr of the following link is a 2% difference to non-OC. That's hardly a difference worth the hassles of crashing. I still get the same framerates in XIV, as my system is overkill for it in the first place. https://techbuyersguru.com/gaming-dd...vs-16gb?page=4
