Question about Excogitation

Welp, DDoS knocked me out of tanking the 67 dunge, so I might as well pick the brains of the forum for a question I had:

When you cast Excogitation on someone, is its healing value whatever the parameters were when you applied it, or whatever they are when it goes off? I'd like to know as a Scholar of course to properly work it with my fairy abilities (Haha fairy abilities going off when you want them to HAHA), but also when I get it cast on me as a tank, I want to know if there's still time for me to use Convalescence and get a bigger heal out of it when it goes off? Appreciate any info.

Most likely snapshots when it's applied. Either way it doesn't matter in the case of Convalescence though, because it's an Ability, not a Spell, and thus ignores healing buffs/debuffs.

Abilities like Excogitation, Lustrate, Indomitability, Tetragrammaton, Essential Dignity, etc. are not affected by statuses that boost healing magic potency (e.g., Convalescence, Largesse, Fey Illumination, Mantra, Defiance, etc.) because they aren't spells. So it doesn't matter at what point Excog's healing potency is calculated because it will always be the same.

They are also unaffected by statuses that reduce healing magic potency (like Infirmity).

It's not entirely true that Excog will always be the same - it would be effected by Mind potions and the answer to this would be interesting if anyone wants to actually test it, but ultimately probably not very valuable information, just because that doesn't seem like a great use of a pot.

Ah, damn, that's right. I always forget the magic/ability breakdown. Kinda sucks honestly because all of Scholar's really good heals are abilities- makes healing Warrior sort of a pain.
So that's it, huh? No way to boost those abilities? My Lustrates are feeling a bit insufficient as I level.
