    SE--Don't stop now. (Battle mechanics)

    The gameplay is definitely better than it was before, but it's still not there yet.
    Consider adding more dynamic skills. Sneak Attack, Trick Attack, Cover; these skills were extremely innovative to the MMO genre. They promoted cognitive assertion; thwarting the concept of standing in one spot. It allowed players to truly depend on one another. This is the direction this game needs to head in.

    Self-combos is a good idea and party combos will be highly welcome, but these do not add dynamics to team play like the skills I mentioned above. The gameplay should have a bigger emphasis on team coordination that rely on specific skills. All of these skills should be introduced in XIV and MORE.

    If this is already in works; even better. If not, please consider this. The current gameplay is very boring as it involves nothing but spamming 1 or 2 skills/spells.
    PLEASE consider this SE.

    i like skill reforms overall. i just don't like the fact that they removed so many skills (cover, accomplice, absorb attack, etc), but well, it's not so bad.

    battle mechanics are not the problem of this game to be honest.

    needs a radical class reform for doh (maybe removing some of them too, lol) and some other little things (u/u stats, moogle pre-req, link system)

    Most of the skill they remove would be added to Jobs like cover would be added only to Job-PLD So i think that why there little of spell because they be use for the job system.

    They need to take it further as I stated. There is much more that can be done.

    we already know they are adding more in 1.21 (feb-march). new skills, jobs, new equips (af), new primals (garuda, maybe ifrit, maybe titan/leviathan). maybe something to do with guild marks too.

    I think the whole point of the recent ability changes was to open up some of the skills to other future classes. This will stop everyone from being "John Everyman" and turn them into "Johnny Specific-Archetype."

    However, I feel they should release jobs and finish battle adjustments prior to throwing other classes into the mix, cause that's just going to create more issues with balancing.

    Not to mention we have to consider that a lot of the server & game engine issues they state are being fixed are the likely culprits to a lot of missing abilities and game mechanics.

    They really should have not released the patch without implementing the jobs.

    It's still a good idea to bring these suggestions to light. We don't know everything that SE has in store so it becomes very important that we as a community bring up these concerns before it is too late.

    I agree, jobs should have accompanied the current battle adjustments but obviously it wasn't feasible and the whole situation we have now comes down to SquareEnix being a business who's job it is to churn income from it's fanbase.

    I think it's good to discuss potential future jobs & classes, however as it stands now we know they want to implement more mages first, pet classses & a scout archetype for THF/NIN-style jobs. So I think it's safe to assume you'll see some nifty abilities in the future in the vein you're looking for.

    One thing though, I do disagree in your OP about spamming 1 or 2 skills, if that's the case you're not utilizing your class properly. There are beneficial skills across the board for most classes, and several things which are situational use now which leaves a bit of decision making up to the individual. But it does need a bit more expansion.

    Also there are plans to implement another "Battle Regimen" system but it's not going to be the same as before. So we do know team interaction is certainly coming.

    Love the combo system. but as other put too many skill where removed in my opinion.

    Have to see what the job system adds to make my final call on that though.

    SE needs to adjust other content slightly though for the change in the battle system. Ifrit is an example... cannot really do a 3 stage combo without getting owned atm.
