Total Eclipse after all the fuss about pali aoe never see anyone use it why?

Nothing, but there is very little chance that while you aoe pull the leveling dungeons, you are taking little enough damage that you don't need healing, and thus if you cast total eclipse and the healer casts an on-gcd heal, that is not the most efficient choice. In the post I quoted, the guy talks about pulling every add after the first boss; there is no chance in hell you are surviving that pull without active healing.

It largely depends on who you're paired with and how good they are, as an example a SCH past their DoTs being Bane'd doesn't do enough damage to outweigh Total Eclipse. Similarly, as Hruodig mentioned, there's windows where you take no damage like Holy spam - as well as a universal one where you pop Hallowed (usually best used on large trash pulls anyway). Clemency certainly has its place and it'd be silly to ignore it, but similarly you shouldn't ignore Total Eclipse either.

That's assuming you get full duration from Goring from each mob. In practice, by the time you dropped your 6-7 mob pack to 4-5, the mobs will be at less than 50% hp and applying goring on the remaining mob won't be efficient (with a good dps group)

It is actually still 4 mobs as a breakeven. 160+240+250 and 420 (from dot) = 1,070 divided by the 3 gcds is 357. Compared to Eclipse which is 110, at 3 mobs is 330 and 4 440. Not that you would actually get the dot to fully tick...

You get closer with Holy Spirit and Holy Spirit buffed by Requiescat. Where you need 5 adds. But the good news is one is MP and the other TP, so you should just be single targeting vs. aoe generally solely based on your TP and MP management.

I agree but again in practice I find it safer to use eclipse on 3 as it's guaranteed damage.
I do goring blade at 3 mobs too but only when I'm 100% sure the add has enough HP to survive the full dot.

It seems like Im the only pali that uses it from what Ive seen Im confused I thought that everyone wanted more aoe. Is it bad should I not be using it cause I spam it then do goring on adds after. Whats the deal why doesn't anyone seem to like it, I'm a tank main but I been playing alot of dps lately. So Im noticing a trend and am really just curious is the skill under-powered?

It could use a slight potency increase imo but it's still okay to use. I use it as filler during trash pulls after I have established hate and wait for my blind to run out to refresh that

You would be surprised by how many doesn't even know it exists because they were 60 when the expansion hits and new lower level abilities were not added to their bars automatically. Outside that I'm fairly sure a lot of people actually use it, i sure do. But only when it's appropriate to do so, that is on big pulls of like 5+

If you do leveling roulettes, you learn about TE real fast. Since spamming Flash is boring and pointless, you just Flash a couple times and then spam TE.

I use it for big pulls and I'm tired or ready for bed. I'll ShO FoF CoS TE til CoS rinse repeat and watch that SAM chase me all the way to bed

When I pull 2 packs, that's usually 5-6 mobs anyway. I get emnity with 1-2 flashes and CoS. Then I hit FoF and start using TE. By the time my TP is running lower, mobs then to be lower as well. Requiescat + Holy spirit to finish mobs off works wonders. Rince and repeat.

With 3 mobs, I cycle Goring, unless the DPS is really good. Then I just goring the last 2 mobs, seeing the first one is dead before the dot has run it's full course.

I use it quite a lot. But it would be nice if SE would add Enmity to it

They doubled flash enmity so there is no need to add it for TE
