Perhaps there is a case for DH over Crit. Just remember that Crit increases the potency of critical hits in addition to frequency, and Direct Hit does not (as far as I'm aware). Until the pros run the numbers and publish the Stormblood stat weights, we'll not know for sure.

Until that time, as long as you're avoiding adding SS, it'll be fine. You change gear fairly frequently in the patch cycles and you can always remove materia, so it's not worth losing sleep over.
