Also, to whoever said that SSDs don't do much - I have a second generation OCZ Vertex from 2 1/2 years ago. After moving FFXIV to my SSD, I noticed significantly less stuttering as NPCs and PCs were loaded while I was entering towns, camps, etc. It really is worth moving your installation.

Oh, I do have it on an SSD, got two of them in my rig actually. It's just that I run the 14 client on my ssd equipped desktop while I also have a client on a laptop with traditional drive, and while there are noticeable differences, personally I don't really think it's that big of a deal. TBH I see more difference in between ssd/hdd during non-gaming applications.

I Play FFXIV on a Revodrive 1 (not the enterprise market version) (the OS disk)

Very very very fast, no instability and less performance degradation compared with SATA SSD.

You need to have a PCI E free slot

so i got a radeon 6850 for about 120.00 though i had to get a new PW supply because it needed 6 pins, with this i'm running everything on standard and 2msaa AO and Depth at 60 FPS, i can push it for more, but i'm very very happy with what i got. thank you everyone for the suggestion.


actually i stayed at frys for over 1.5 hours debating on a 560TI and 6850, but when it came to it. the price matter the most to me. cause i'm not in the mood to eat ramen noodles for the next few weeks.
