    graphics card/processor help!

    hello all,

I don't know if this is the right forums to put this question in but I have like a graphic card inquiry.

I have a AMD Phenom II X4 3.2 GHz processor, 8 gigs of ram and a GT 440 graphic card,550 Watt plug. I can play FFXIV all on standard with 30-35 FPS. I was wondering with what i got should I get a better graphic card? what would you guys suggest?

I want to play this game on max, so (help me out)

It all depends on how much money you're willing to spend, and whether you want new or used?

Go download a overclocking program and see if you can overclock it

I don't think max settings are really viable with FFXIV's current graphics programming. Try disabling Ambient Occlusion and Depth of Field if they aren't already disabled and then maybe play with your actual detail levels. From what I understand, unless something changed, AO is buggy anyhow.

Careful when overclocking. Get a program like furmark or something and do test runs. Overclock by increments of 5 each time and run furmark and see if your computer shuts down. if it shuts down you are going too high

Wait for the next AMD/ATI generation and buy one of those. The 6000-series has too many issues imo. The CPU is definately fast enough for highend for another two years.

You don't need a really super top end GPU to run this gameon max anyway, I have a single 560ti and run everything on max, 1920x1080, 60FPS everywhere. I think it's general drawing quality? I have that set as standard, becuase it tanks if you put it higher, but then I heard that setting it higher is essentially doubling/tripling your resolution which really isn't necessary IMO. Not sure if this is helpful, but might save you some money
