    SE please acknowledge this issue

The forums are littered with reports of DX11 problems... can't play the game or frequent crashes... how has this still not been addressed or at the very least, acknowledged.

We pay you and in return, we expect a little courtesy when a technical issue is effecting so many of your player base.

Even just replying to any of these reports, with a "we are working on it" would make people feel a lot better.

There must be something that can be done to fix this. And if there is some post that refutes my comments, please feel free to link them so I can see what the response was in regards to this issue.

Faulty card maybe? I got a GTX 960 4GB, play on DX11 and got no issues or crashes at all.

Edit: NVM, I guess you got an AMD. I haven't bought one for years because of compatibility issues. Not saying its okay to not fix this, but honestly more than a few games have any sort of issues with AMD in my experience. Which sucks because they are actually good cards.

Edit 2: Did you check the other thread? They posted an update to the AMD drivers which you could try and see if it improves:

I can't test right now, hopefully it's a permanent fix!

Is your processor AMD? Trust me, it matters. Having two pieces of hardware made by different companies will result in some problems in keeping your computer running. For instance, my roommate has a PC that has an Intel processor and an AMD video card, and has trouble running quite a few programs, like those that do require DX11. FF14 is probably not the only game that may have this issue, either; perhaps it's just the only one you're experiencing this with.

I have a NVIDIA GTX 970... there are tons of people getting the dx11 crashes just like mine with both nvidia and amd.

It only started (for most of us) around patch 3.4... before that, I never once had a crash... and I played for 6 months with this card before crashes.

I have researched fixes for this on multiple forums and no one has come up with a real fix that works 100%... SE should have fixed this before stormblood but continues to ignore it.

I'm not sure of this, but I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that it's very possible that this is the 970 itself, because NVIDIA made those with a botched memory controller which is a hardware flaw with these cards. This card is wonky because only the first 3.5GB out of the 4GB of onboard memory runs at full speed, and when memory usage goes over this for any reason, it will cause severe performance problems and errors.

There was a class-action lawsuit against NVIDIA for the 970 memory architecture. NVIDIA lost this case and had to pay millions to 970 owners.
I see this issue with this game everyday from players using the 970 card, but not with the 980. I run a 980 and haven't had these problems occur. I can say that it has ran flawless on this card.

AMD on the other hand, those cards suffer from a memory leak, and it appears to be EVERY AMD card too.

Now how the H3LL is it possible to build a gaming PC and NOT have parts from at least two different manufacturers? Are you considering NVIDIA an intel component? XD

You could build a computer with just Intel in mind, but that'd mean that you'd have to use the IGPU on the CPU since they dont make dedicated graphics cards. Not since the late 90s anyway. They have also announced that AMD will make the GPU that will be on future intel CPUs.

An AMD cpu has no issues with this game, aside from lower performance. It's GPU line, however, all have problems with this game, but to be honest, there are a ton of games where the problem lies with NVIDIA.

Yeah, I remember the settlement... but that doesn't explain how I went 6 months of no crashes until a specific patch was released and I don't have crashes on any other games.

The patches add new elements to the game, as it does, memory usage will go up. The graphics engine was not modified during those patches, and if that wasn't causing a crash before that patch, then the blame would likely be other things in game that could be spiking memory usage.

The hardware behind a 970 and a 980 is virtually the same, aside that some of the shader units of the 980 were cut to make it a lower performing card such as the 970. The only other real difference is that when these shader units were cut, it also cut off a segment of memory, as the shader groups also have their own portion of the memory. So NVIDIA had to come up with another implemation to make use of that .5GB of memory, and that implemation has resulted with massive problems with the 970 card. If this wasn't to blame, then I or any other 980 owner should experience the errors you're describing but they don't. Everything else remains the same, including drivers. The only difference in your card and mine is a few shader units and the wonky utilization of memory on the 970.

If you're not running the latest driver, then update.

Also, make sure you're running in full screen mode instead of borderless window.

Also, overlay applications can cause these crashes, as they tap into the memory buffer. Programs such as MSI Afterburner, FRAPS, recording software, ect need to not just be minimized but disabled.

Some suggest reducing LoD settings, and running in DX9 seems to stop the crashes.

They aren't dx11 issues, that's the client name.
