I'd love to have more background information and story about Aulus mal Asina the scientist who helped create the Resonants, I mean isn't this pretty important in the grand scheme of things? He essentially gave Garleans the power to use magic and stuff right? Is his research wholly destroyed..or did he send it on to garlemald....yes he was a boss in the Ala Mhigo dungeon...but he better not be dead lol

In one of the cutscenes at the very tail end of the MSQ you see the Garlean emperor Varis zos Galvus talking to the white Ascian Elidibus and their dialog heavily implies that the experiments are/will continue to be important. At one point lamenting Zenos' death as 'the lost of an important test subject.'

Of course it'll be back... The whole Garlean Empire is filled with nothing more than mustache twirling villains who have no problems torturing, experimenting on and wiping out thousands of innocent civilians, even their own people. When one falls, another is around to take their place.

Yes we need more anime mad scientist. This is an interesting part of our garlean enemies that should be expanded upon. I may have missed it but I never understood why Urianger didn't want us to know about the tool used to counter the hypertuned Fordola.

He reasoned that if she was utilizing some form of clairvoyance that she might've been able to discern our intent if we knew exactly what the device was doing and counteract it somehow.

Could be, but if we go by that logic after our first use shouldn't she have "figured it out" and countered the effects? I was thinking it had something to do with aether and potentially dangerous side effects.

Oooh I totally forgot about that, but Im glad its not going to be forgotten storywise, its a really important development for the empire.

While I agree with your counterpoint here and felt the same way as you after it was explained to the player later, this was exactly his intent of not telling you anything about it. It would've been better if we only had to use it once on her and then go from there.

One thing about Castrum Abania I noticed:

The boss, Inferno. The scientist operating behind the scenes calls it "Little one", you also notice it has a third eye so is likely a Garlean child, it's things like this which are unsettling to me but I can't wait to see more.
