DO NOT CAST Regen on your tank as s/he is about to pull. Unless of course, you are in the mood to solo tank.
If you are lucky, your tank may know to use /statusoff, but don't count on it.
That is all. Bye.

So glad I haven't run into any pre-pull HoTs recently.
One amendment I'll make on this.
Precasting regen in raid setting is pretty much the norm and is a big part of maximising your opening DPS.
Pre casting Medica II before the pull is typically inefficient and just poor form in any situation that comes to my mind tho.

I ran into a whm that precasted medica ii and regen before a boss. I clicked mine off and waited for the others to wear off so he cast it again. At that point I just said I'm not pulling with regens up and sat down. He kept putting it back up for a while and he and his buddy gave me grief about it until he finally stopped. Went up to the next boss while he was just spamming cure i and cure ii on me at full health and we get to the next boss....where he does the medica ii and regen again. So I sit down and wait it out again, right as it wears off I run to pull and get kicked from the group.
I notice many WHMs / ASTs from Moogle doing this, it's so weird.![]()
It happens all the time that the tank moves from one pack of trash to another with Regen still on, or an Astro buff still on which pulls aggro to the healer also. They are perfectly capable of pulling the pack onto themselves regardless. I tank also so while I fully understand its a nuisance, sometimes having to chase down a mob that darted for the healer, its certainly not detrimental, and its not an excuse for the tank to not be grabbing aggro.
Any tank worth a damn would be able to handle the aggro from regen ticks and pull accordingly, with no problems whatsoever.
That's not to say you should be pre-casting Regen without a care, just that it's a team effort and everyone can impact a smooth dungeon run.
The reason it's bad is because the moment the tank reaches the mobs they will aggro you , and even after the tank uses an enmity generating ability, I think due the latency in the game they'll still be on you for a moment. It's only a problem if the healer is right behind the tank. If there's enough distance, then the mobs will aggro back to the tank without reaching the healer first. It's not that tanks can't handle it, it's just, lag.
Although most people seem to forget that if they have a regen on them they can click it off.
Sounds like the group was pretty patient with you. It's not at all difficult to seize aggro as a tank, regardless of regen. At worst you need to spam your AoE hate ability one more time and move a bit. Don't be a prima donna just because you set the pace.I ran into a whm that precasted medica ii and regen before a boss. Man, I'm happy if healers cast Regen at all. I'm so sick and tired of being paired up with WHM or AST in Susano or Lakshmi who don't know what Regen is.
