The delay on Plenary Indulgence's heal

Plenary Indulgence is a very uncommonly used spell, and there's so many other things wrong with it, and maybe that's why I've never seen this brought up before, but it has a huge delay with its heal.
It's actually a bit longer than the Benediction heal delay that they've never fixed yet. It doesn't act like a insta heal at all, so on the offchance that I somehow did have 3 stacks, and it somehow didn't fall off by the time a tankbuster was coming, I can't completely rely on it because of its delay.

I know this is the last thing people worry about with Plenary Indulgence, but it's really something that shouldn't go ignored. We now have two "insta cast" spells on WHM that aren't actually instant casted because of animation delay, and that just doesn't look too good.

Benediction animation delay isn't a problem, i was totally made on purpose because it's a big and powerful skill, just Hallowed ground or living dead for tanks.

I don't think I've made a thread last week at all, and I'm sure I didn't make over 5 in one week.
And if it's a legit problem with the job that no one is talking about, why skip over the issue and mock me for simply making another thread? I make threads a bit more than I should, yes, but is the issue any less important?

To be fair to Exiled in this particular thread, to me this is a legit albeit minor concern with the WHM kit and it would be nice to have a QoL with it. It's not complaining about how absolutely unsustainable WHM will be in the upcoming raid meta.

Even if S-E doesn't fix it, I feel it's important enough to announce that PI does have a animation delay that's even longer than Benediction (at least I feel it is) so WHMs can work around this delay when they play.

You've made 5 threads (including this one) on the healer OF since June 27th, 2017 - four of them speaking to WHMs "unsuitability" to the raid. While I do feel NorthernLadMSP's comment is uncalled for in this particular thread, it is something for you to keep in mind for the future. They aren't wrong about the number of threads you've posted regarding your thoughts on WHM.

Yeah I noticed the lag on the animation last week.

I don't really see the issue peraonally. PI shouldn't be seen as an emergency heal imo, as it functions (when it actually procs) as a decent supplementary heal that you can tack on to Cure or Tetra or something.

It's so weak even at 3 stacks that a tank who gets really low will need you to cast at least 1 other spell, unlike Bene.

I don't think it's all animation based. A lot of us are aware that AoE heals radiate out from the center and don't hit everyone at exactly the same time, making it possible to cast a medica that overheals the 2 closest target but lands after the raidwide hit for the other 6. It's also the reason an enrage mechanic while the boss is at 0% hp can kill half the party but leave the rest alive if it the time of boss-death happens to line up perfectly with the enrage cast.

FFXIV in particular seems to have a much more noticeable delay for me in terms of first-healed to last-healed for AoEs compared to other MMOs I've played. Maybe other MMOs delay the entire heal until everyone in range is accounted for while XIV does first come first served, or maybe XIV is just slow. I dunno. Point is there's an AoE check and I can certainly feel it.

PI likely does this for the 30y radius check that goes out when you hit the ability, solely to make the check of who has confessions within that range (I should add that you ARE able to use PI if a target has confession stacks but is out of range. PI simply goes on cooldown and the confession timer keeps ticking away to add insult to injury). Then it has to detonate them, as well as determine whether to heal for 400, 500, or 600 potency. It's a two step process, one of which is AoE to begin with. This multiple-checks and resolution thing is probably part of why rescue has such a long activation, too. Part of, not the whole reason. (Can we speed up the slide on rescue, at the very least? It's a shame it's a slide to begin with, for that matter.)

Add on their normal "Must give fancy animation" stuff and we end up with a skill that has a very noticeable delay in activation.

There's a few times I really wish the activation was not as long, but as something I'm tracking to begin with to decide when I can and should use it, it's rare that I'm using it as an emergency heal. More of a buffer, or a way to free up a potential GCD to go do something else. Getting a feel for its delay does allow you to preheal with it just like you would with normal spells.

As far as all the healers go, it's pretty low on my list of things I wish were looked into - but I wouldn't complain if it were ever sped up.

Every class has legitimate grievances. This comment is just as unhelpful as my own.
