Job Quest Story Line

Only done the BRD ones and DRK to 65 so far, but I think the DRK ones are fine as is? Maybe it's just because I love the NPCs, but I've found the dialogue hilarious enough to make up for the kind of boring fights, and I appreciated the continued humor so that it doesn't feel like everything is grim and dark. It's also nice to see the return of some NPCs I did not think we'd ever see again.

The BRD ones were... not very interesting at all, and that's about all I have to say about that.

Of the 70's I have so far.

Drk- great, loved it.

Brd- pretty interesting in my opinion.

Pld- pretty meh unless you really enjoyed the gld story.

Nin- it was alright.

Mch- didn't get good until the very last quest.

Fsh- it was pretty dull.

Btn- average.

Min- this one was good. I really liked it.

Crp- pretty enjoyable. I liked it.

I've only done SMN, SCH, and PLD so far. I'm partway through WHM and DRK, and I did the SAM 50-60 story too.

PLD was awful. It has nothing to do with anything about being a paladin, the tournament is boring, and I didn't miss the gladiator characters at all.

SCH was...better than the drill sergeant shenanigans from 50-60 at least, but still not very good. The last fight was great, but I feel like they don't really know what to do being stuck with tonberries all the time.

SMN was good, just not as good as 50-60. The fights were great, the Allagan story was somewhat interesting as it focuses on some history for the job itself, and the talking tome wasn't quite as silly as it could have been. It's just hard to top single-handedly destroying an ascian, and as Zana pointed out earlier it really doesn't seem to have anything to do with learning the final abilities.

SAM 50-60 was actually surprisingly good, and hopefully 60-70 will match it. It's going to be hard for DRK to live up to 30-50, but I'm interested to see.

Well.. finished the DRK 70 quest.. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Wow. Talk about tying all the threads together.. For any interested I went ahead and recorded it because people said it was so good.

I hope for the next paladin job story they just copy/paste some random Arthurian legend (or the French equivalent which I am forgetting right now) instead of writing a tournament arc that takes place entirely within Ul'dah.

The 60 - 70 DRG totally makes up for the disappointing quest line that came before it. I highly recommend doing it if you are a Heavansward enthusiast. As was mentioned the DRK quests are amazing from 30 - 70. The RDM is also really enjoyable as well. I think it really depends on which kinds of stories reach and speak to you.

Do you prefer an adventure story? And introspective and deep story? A story where you become the best or help someone else accomplish thier goals? I've done the majority of the class quests to 60 (my goal is to level all jobs to 70 to see thier stories, yes even SCH) and I find the stories where I help build up other characters as support appeals to me most.
