Job Quest Story Line

I'm not normally one to complain but.. Doesn't it seem like SE is a little lazy on the job quests storyline and cs? I wish they were more in-depth and meaningful. Granted I havent finished the very last DRK job quest (or many others), so far it hasnt felt like it was even close to being as good as the last two archs. The Sam job quest was decent. Just wished they put more time into making the stories of the job quests more captivating and worthwhile. Of course, take my opinion with a grain of salt. I only have sam 70 and drk 68 almost 69. But just from what I've seen so far and what I have heard from others, the job quests were a bit lackluster this go around.

O.o really I love them, and I rather have them work on more content than a partial side job quest. Seriously though I doubt most people even go back and go back to view it, maybe for old times sake. Maybe a few not many.

I guess I am in the minority as far as SAM goes, or maybe I'm just a feels sap. I was really captivated by the story of the SAM quest line. Sometimes a story only needs to be simple and not try too hard and have illusions of grandeur and it would still be captivating. I haven't ever leveled a tank so I don't know what stories those are like; but I rather enjoyed the WHM story and to some extent the THM story (only got up to 26 for swiftcast back then.) The PUG story was pretty cool, the MNK story is kinda eh.

I'm glad you find them enjoyable. I really liked the ending to the first arch of DRK (lvl50) Where you face off against *spoilers* ----your inner self. Generally speaking Ive liked most of what I saw in the job quests at 50 and 60. I just wished they put even more effort into them. So far I havent really seen that in this expansion. However, I get that some folks would rather them spend time on playable content. I just like really good stories and dynamic/interesting cutscenes. Its just the kind of thing I enjoy.

I definitely enjoyed the sam job quests. I guess really my only gripe with it is I wish the CS were more dynamic. I was rewatching some of the CS from the past and the angles and representation of certain events were really good. Alot of the CS I have seen in this expansion are from one angle only or just plain face time.. Music, camera angles, etc etc for me give more impact to the story. For instance the very last DRK job quest I just did (57-58) had some really emotional scenes but because its just in an open field and not a cs it feels less impactful. The writing is good, it's just the visual presentation isnt all that pleasing. Worst still, it detracts from the good writing at times. Having said that, I do honestly enjoy SB as a whole. Would just like them to show more love to the job quests in terms of visual presentation. Kinda like Susanoo. Blocking a giant sword was awesome. I would like to see my character do such things in CS format or really emotional heart stabbing scenes showed in a unique way in CS. Give me CS! lol

The WHM was really dumb but I enjoyed the BRD and especially SCH.

I haven't seen them all yet obviously but so far the quality of the SB job quests has felt much higher than the HW ones (with the possible exception of DRK/AST/MCH as I felt their HW quests were excellent already). So many of the previous quests were snoozefests where nothing of value happened, whereas these bring back old characters and have some fights which are occasionally mildly challenging for once.

I loved everything about it. It's one of my favorite moments in the game now.

The monk 60-70 quest has Hamon Holyfist.... it's pretty much the best ever.
