    I agree with the idea of making all of the materia of the same tier the same value. As it is we basically have tiers within materia tiers, corresponsing first to the title name, and then the value. Stacking could also be implemented at that point for even more inventory compaction. This also has the side effect of making materia easier to appraise, as the worth of a materia is only based off of the tier, and not an additional factor.

    They could do this going forward, when tier 5 materia eventually exists. Since it would be better in general than any 4 they could then get rid of the extra lower tiers as gear with it in wouldn't be the best any more anyway.

    Between this and the increase in 12 to 99 stack items coming up, can we also please get an inventory reshuffle organisation option? Nothing huge, just a little button/command that will find the items that are the same but aren't full stacks and combine them. Last time we had item stack numbers changing, we still had to manually get the items out of wherever they were (bazaars, retainer inventories or our own inventories) to restack them ourselves. Not sure about others here but if I have 20 materia that belong in a single pile, I do not want to have to move them off my retainer one by one to stack them manually and then move the completed stack back onto my retainer. Especially with my 200 materia or so all up (I'm a hoarder XD).

    PS. That function would help out the crafters amongst us too. Crafting from recipes uses the highest item on the list that's a match, meaning all those 99's at the top, making more partial stacks when there are likely partial stacks lower down. Being able to organise that with a single button/command would be very nice.

    Just removed materia from the game completly it is a big fat waste of space and just come out with gear that is worth fighting for and hard to obtain with big co-op endgame battles... tiamat faf nidd realy hardcore NMs and instances comparable to ffxi maybe without the 5 day respawn timers. hell my materia gear is better than my AF gear for the most part just not as sexy "looking" materia was a nice thought but with rare ex blue ex green ex items not meldable the materia either has to go or everything needs to be meldable.

    It still makes me go O.o when I look at Rare/EX gear that has the Spiritbond bar on it yet you get break it down as well. Not that I would but where usually most companies fail at details, SE definitely oppsied on a few details recently.

    I like this idea in combination with the stacking if the same tier.

    I would ask that the materia the change happen so that all NEW materia of the tier is one value and stackable.

    And possibly (and I do mean possibly) consolidating the catalysts to the tier. Dare I say... even just using Dark Matter?

    Well that's to assume that they don't have any plans to implement some sort of "materia" like aspect to R/E items.

    Let's take Job gear for example, they have aspects that can augment certain abilities while equipped, so it's quite possible that they could implement special materia you can gain through R/E armor without losing the armor. For example the Fighter's Burgeonet grants

    Enhances Antagonize , HP : +60, Vit : +5,
    Str : +2, Crit Rate : +10

    Which could equate to
    Savage Might Materia I (Crit 10)
    Strength Materia I (STR 2)
    Bloodthirst Materia IV (HP 60)
    Vitality Materia I (VIT 5)

    Then a special materia could be added for Antagonize that grants the effect of "Enhance Antagonize" on the item you attach it to.

    Basically they could have R/E not be lost upon extracting it for materia and for something like above the % of gaining the materias would be the following
    Savage=25%
    Strength=25%
    Bloodthirst=20%
    Vitality=25%
    Antagonize=5%

    -------

    As for reducing the variables of each grade from 4 to 1 just doesn't make sense, the variables are meant to be there to encourage the ones who are "hardcore" to push on to the challenge of obtaining highest tier of the grade they want. By reducing a grade IV to 1 or even 2 would reduce the "challenge" in maximizing your stats.

    Also I"m not sure how well the new gear is but they have added a lot of spiritbonding enhancements into the game and from what I've experienced it appears to be even easier to max out the spiritbond so I guess it just comes down to how much gil you're willing to spend in order to obtain the top tier of each materia.

    I could however agree with materia getting it's own inventory slot perhaps in a manner where it's 50 cap so you can't carry every single materia on hand but you'd still have a decent amount of space to carry materia.
