    [dev] Battle speed and Combo system

    Hello~
    I'd like to start by saying thank you devs for all the work and updates

    Concerning the battle system as it is now, it feels slow because we do not have the old "free cost" actions anymore i.e. light thrust, heavy thrust.

    The weapon skills by themselves feel useless and weak.
    And it seems we are forced to use combos as the only option to do any type of significant damage.

    I do feel that I am able to kill faster because in total the combos are doing more damage, but I also feel I'm doing a lot of waiting.

    Could we lower cool down time and decrease combo dmg to make the fight feel faster? Or add "free cost" actions back and have a single 1000TP skill that does medium dmg and fast cool down?

    Or whatever the devs can think of to fill in the gap while i'm waiting for my combo to cool down - watching my char auto atk is quite boring

    I will admit, the combo system does make all of our lower level WSs useful. Before I'd just use doom spike and chaos thrust.

    I'm having a lot of dead time between the combo cool downs though =/

    Not sure what you are talking about because i literally have to press a sh*tload more buttons this time.

    I actually like it the way it is. Its fun, it makes a lot of sense. The combos are cool each class is completely different in its own way and each class has roles to fill. battle speed is actually faster as combos give potentially 3 weapon skills to use at the price of one.

    A well worded constructive statement! Good to see stuff like this! Even though I disagree in part with your assessment its still very valid and war warranted! I would say wait till 1.21 and the inclusion of the job system to see how they further tweak the combat system. Perhaps things will be a little smoother then?

    What job are you referring to? Because if it is your level 50 I'm curious where this down time is coming from? Do you not use any abilities other than weapon skills?

    You kind of have alot of downtime if you are bad at positioning and keep failing to chain combo.

    I feel ya. For a single battle, the fight will likely be over. But if you're trying to chain them together, you'll get hit with this cooldown more than not.

    When someone else is tanking, would prefer not to do the Heavy Swing → Skull Sunder combo for the enmity gen. Conjurer is looking a little less unsexy (triple upside-down negative!).
