    Action bars, tips needed!

So, I'm kinda new to FFXIV. I did start off back in Heavensward and got a monk to 35, but I kinda fell out of the game because I didn't find a community to fit in with and had other MMO's gnawing at me, mainly WoW.

Now I find myself craving something new, so I've come back and boosted myself to 60 on a MCH to play with a friend of mine. However, while I like MCH, I've come to realize that's it's pretty much the Legion warlock of FFXIV, so I'm regretting my choice.

So, I've picked up SAM and RDM, classes I find I like the feel of quite a bit. However, something that is really irking me about them is the way in which their action bars are placed. Far from being intuitive to use and being set out in a logical fashion for a newcomer, they're clustered all over the place in no kind of order whatsoever, making it rather hard for someone like me to transition into them.

So, how have you set up your bars? Tips for SAM, and more especially RDM would be VERY appreciated!

I don't have much experience with those jobs in particular, but the placement of the hotbars themselves is universal among all jobs and adjustable via HUD Layout. Beyond that, the placement of individual actions on the hotbars is also adjustable. I don't think anyone expects players to just use the buttons in their default positions; the default positions seem to just be the actions occupying the first available slot, whereas the actions themselves become available in an order that expects them to be linked together in various dynamic orders at various levels.

So you're supposed to customize all of this to your liking.
