Change Male and Female Glamour Restrictions

I want to have the female versions of the astrologian, and white mage artifact gear. I think the designs are better. I propose that in the future, outfits with extreme gender differences have an option to change them. Call one a, and the other b. This would be good for not just effeminate men, but also tomboyish women who want to wear their sets in a way that suits them. Not all women want to be feminine.

Stop making gender locked glamours, too. Girls have so many more options, but there are male options I enjoy that I can't have that annoy me, so that from a male avatar player's perspective must be super frustrating.

I'm not sure if they would take the route you ask as it's a mesh and model thing, too, but we could ask them to stop it from now on.

Yeah, I'm still a little salty about glamours. Back in ARR there was a period of time where most of the glamours that came out were either gender-neutral or female-only, so it was like SE forgot that a significant part of the playerbase played male characters and wanted to dress them up too. They've stopped being so obviously biased but I still feel like people with female characters have more options and attention paid to them. There's also a problem where some job/artifact gear is obviously designed for females first so it looks silly on male characters even if they bother to change it (WHM and AST gear, i240 tank gear, etc).

I think having gender-restricted glamours are archaic by now. Why do they exist? So the huge Roe guys can't wear a dainty dress for giggles? Girls can't wear gear that exposes the chest and the bland bra they wear? Just remove the restrictions going forward and let players express themselves more easily.

I think healing in general would be more popular if everything from the gear to the lore weren't so hyper-feminine. Same for hyper-masculine tanks.

I'm convinced the devs don't realize how many players take aesthetic into account on their job choice.

A very good point - though I feel that SE is without a doubt more open to gender equality than any other dev team I've experienced in other MMOs - the 60+ healer set being a good example; Who doesn't love a half-naked cat-boy in his pants... That said the lack of gender alternatives/gender locked gear is a bit backward.

    NO to crossdressing.

I will not elaborate as to why I dont want it as I have done this multiple times already in some other threads and it really never ends well.
Pretty sure quite a few people know my stance as they have been following those other said threads before too, so yeah.

No, I do not want this.

I would like this but with specific items such as the Scion Adventurer's Jacket. I always liked the female version more.
But they can do it with everything so everyone (that wants it) can be happy.

    -Gives her flameshield and sword-
Make sure you're in Shield Oath and swap to Sword Oath
    every now and then.

I say, open gear/glamour to all. Zero restrictions.

That's fine, you don't have to like it. You don't have to cross-dress if you don't want to. But denying everyone who wants it because of your personal feelings is a bit selfish. People already work with what they're given- dyes and designated neutral attire, despite clearly being intended for one or the other- and it hasn't hurt you or anyone else. Maybe SE can compromise and give players like you an option to turn off other people's glamours. It'd see niche use, but if it can satisfy people like you who care about gender roles and aesthetics while letting others have freedom of expression, I'd be okay with it.

I think they exist because the gear has to be made to work for different body types, I don't think it's quite like flipping a switch, there's some non-trivial amount of work someone has to do to make female gear meshes be the right shape for male bodies. And they probably think that time would be better spent on something else because the number of guys who want to wear dresses is relatively small.
