One Market Board option from FFXIV 1.0 that would make life easier in 4.0.

    Hi everyone,

I'd like to make a suggestion that has been bothering me for a while regarding the Market Board.

When selling items on the Market Board in FFXIV 1.0, players were able to set a price either per stack or per unit.

    - If selling by stack, buyers would have to buy the whole stack for the set price (same as current system).
    - If selling by unit, buyers can choose how many items they want to purchase out of the whole stack.

    Screenshot here, video here.

Unfortunately, with the current Market Board system, players can only sell by stack, which I think causes inconvenience for both buyers and sellers:

    - Sellers have to manually split their stack into smaller numbers since a stack of 99 is unlikely to sell if players generally buy 1~10 of those. As a result, not only it's a pain to split a stack of items into smaller stacks of 2 or 3, but it also takes up all the 20 slots available on the retainer.

    - Buyers are forced to buy more items than needed, or hope that a seller was brave/not lazy to split their items into smaller stacks.

While selling a stack of items could be intentional to appeal players in buying more items than needed but at a discounted price, enabling players to sell by unit would make the whole selling and buying operation much more convenient.

And just to clarify: setting a price "per unit" for a stack of 20 or 50 would only take 1 slot on a retainer. However, players would be able to select how many they want to buy off that stack, until there are no more items left for sale.
If selling stack of 20 or 50 rocks is part of the "All or nothing" strategy, that would still be possible by setting the price for the whole stack.

    What do you think?

i see where youre getting at. But as a miner and as a consumer I infinitely love the new way more.

However, when I sell my rocks (giggity) I sell them in stacks of 50 for NQ and 20 for HQ. My job is to make it more convienant for the consumer. If they had the ability to buy one rock at a time, my retainers would be in chaos.. CHAOS I SAY!

It's bad enough with 8 retainers all full. One piece at a time. Nooo

Ooooh yes please bring this back
I currently divide my gathered items into bundles of 20 or 10 meaning they take up many slots because nobody wants 99 raw kyanite :P

(In no way am I a coder, or programmer of any kind, just my thoughts)
That...actually seems like something that wouldn't be too hard to implement. Just add a pop-up for when someone is buying from your stack that lets them pick the number in the stack. I know games like Ragnarok Online had that, so I know it's possible...just not sure how much work they would need to do to implement something like this.

Selling in stacks is only an inconvenience because you have so few MB slots available, even with eight retainers. Otherwise, I wouldn't care at all and I'd probably just post multiple stack sizes.

This sounds like a great idea... there are times as a crafter that you only need 2 or 3 of something and have to buy 50.

I support this as well. If I need some materials/ingredients very quick and don't want to go through the trouble of getting them myself, I would like to purchase a small amount from the MB from a stack. Like the sharks used to make shark oil. I may only need a few of the sharks to actually need to make the oil (like 4 oils), it it's a pain in the butt having to buy like 15 of one shark when I only need 4 of them instead.

I don't know how difficult it is to implement, and I actually wonder if this option was not implemented by choice, or because of technical limitations.
